Question:
Hi. Some people are claiming that these GPU's have 6 power phases and the 12+2 phases are fake. do you have any information about that? They posted a video on youtube claiming it.
Search "PCB Breakdown: Gigabyte Aorus 1080Ti Xtreme Gaming" in youtube.
Personally i don't think its true. Even if it was most of these GPU's overclock to the similar range so more power phases doesn't guarantee higher overclocks.
Answer:
Well, that's not entirely true. The "issue" is that Gigabyte technically uses 12 phases @150Khz, which isn't as good as for example the strix 10 phases @300khz.
The Asus solution is better, but you will probably never notice during normal use as the solution is overkill on either card.

What do you think about your video cards? Interested in ftw3

    This:

If you are still unsure, you can watch the card tear-down video where they show you exactly what components are inside the card and what they think of them.
IMHO, it is an expensive card but it has the best quality components. In fact, maybe they went too far and the card is more expensive than it needed to because of this.

If quality is your only concern, then the FTW3 is what you want.

NONE of the current 1080 Ti cards from any manufacturer are bottlenecked (for overclocking) by their power delivery solutions on air or water.

And AFAIK they are not bottlenecked on LN2 either.
