I still have AMD cards, so I've been using Claymore and XMR-Stak, but for the new gaming build I started I am desperately trying to find a reasonable price for a Nvidia 1080ti. Curious what the best options are for mining with that when I'm not gaming.

Thanks!

I use Nicehash software because it easy to set up and pays you out in bitcoin. I only do it when I am not gaming and do not care much about altcoins.

I'll be on nicehash once I get a new card

I started with Nicehash but i think they been skimming my profits to payoff the haxxor victims. It was great until the 2nd week of January, and also no fee transfers back to Base.

I switched back to better hash (direct miner) in light of the crash and now i'm diversifying my portfolio of mined alt coins (ZEC, ETH, XMR, BTC) in light of the latest bear attack.

my R290X mines ETH approximately approx 28MH flat with 85% TDP...the nvidia will peak higher but isnt as stable. The AMD are just great at mining ETH in general...claymore
1080TI is just better to mine ZEC for all out profit.

to top it off power is free even in winter...i could probably support another miner or two in spring/summer with the increased daylight hours. decent weather means i can run 24/7 without throttling the TDP or hibernating during peak hours.

    R290X hash (Claymore)

    1080 TI Hash ZEC

It depends on the algorithm. I use cgminer for flexibility and testing new stuff. I use bminer for equihash.

Mining profitablility IN GENERAL peaked around mid-January, due to the "coin price surge" in that timeframe.
When coin prices have DROPPED by a third to half since then (depending on the coin), OF COURSE your profitability mining those coins will drop.

I prefer EWBF for equihash mining, but all of my Nvidia rigs that mine equihash are on LINUX and Bminer is Windows specific.
I tried out DSTM but it was giving me same-to 1% higher hashrates at most on MY cards at MY settings, so wasn't worth it given the high dev-fee - your cards at YOUR settings might work better on it though so it's worth TRYING it.

I've mined with both Flypool and with Nicehash - both work well (except for the downtime after the Nicehash hack) if you understand HOW they work - keep in mind that Nicehash is NOT a "pool" as such, it's a MARKETPLACE for hashrate and works somewhat differently from a "pool" as such.

Also keep in mind that you CAN "mine direct" to the Nicehash pools if you prefer to not use their software, though you don't get the algorithm switching advantages that way (nor do you get the hits to your hashrate when switching algorithms).
It's the ONLY way to use ASIC miners with Nicehash, but it also works with GPU and CPU miners on algorithms that don't have ASIC available for them.

Now that vorsholk has stopped his abuse, I'm returning to folding.
I no longer MOO due to abuses by certain "whales" in the Gridcoin community - so I now work the Distributed.net project directly again.

Recent change since I last looked at it, guess I should check it out now.
