Hmm. No issues with your other monitor & 1080 ti, and now no issues using the 680. Starting to sound like a compatibility issues between your monitor and the ftw3. Do both vbioses on the ftw3 produce the same issue?

Weird, right? I also tried it with my Surface Book connected to it, just for the heck of it, and did not have any issues either. Ran it through displayport as well.

Yes, it is very strange. Might want to try the second vbios on the ftw3 to see if it makes any difference or not.

Yuo.. power down the system and pull the psu plug and hold the power button the pc for 15-30 secs to drain all power.. flip the bios switch left of the power connections on the card. Plug the psu back in and power up.

Oh forgot. My son uses the 27" newer Asus monitor and I do have this ftw3 hybrid just sitting outside of it's box waiting since last Monday to be installed. :/

Got stuck needing to flush and totally clean out the cpu water cooling first and changing to a different bigger case to make room for the hybrid cooler.. that and freaking snow and nights of dinning out have delayed the upgrade.

The snow that was supposed to stop 2 and a half hours ago is picking up lol. Big game is coming on soon and I still need to shovel before!

Weather man.. epic fail!

Oh.. anyways hopefully can let you know if i notice anything strange with my ftw3 and Asus 27 incher.

Not getting my hopes up, but since re-seating the video card I have yet to be able to replicate the issue. Only time will tell.

Makes sense as why it didn't happen on the other card.

I hope so. I think the reason that it did not happen as much when it was warm, is actually because the case plate was warming up and becoming more flexible (the part that you screw the video card to). When it was cold, it would sit slightly further out of the slot. When it was warm, it was rest further in the slot... Just my theory though. The way that the card fit in the case was more difficult to get the screws in securely then the 680. I was able to push the case back in slightly that seemed to help, and also was able to push the case back in better to get the screws more securely screwed in.

Again, not getting my hopes up too much, but so far so good.

Started again. I'm going to send the monitor back to Asus. The monitor is the only thing that makes sense. I don't think I had long enough with the 680 connected to replicate the issue. The card was working great with the other monitor for days straight. I also confirmed that the issue happens on the defective monitor at the same refresh rate as the one that worked for days. At this point, it is looking more like a monitor issue than video card issue, but won't know until I get a replacement monitor.

All I can say about Asus RMA is WOW. They sent me a brand new monitor! I didn't even send back anything but the monitor itself and they sent me a brand new monitor in the package sealed with everything in it. It even still has the stickers on it! I haven't fired it up yet, but WOW.

LOL, yeah. Either it keeps doing it and turns out to be the card, or it works fine. I would guess it will work fine because a third monitor has been working great the whole time this one was in RMA. Plus, they just sent me a brand new monitor with no questions asked. I just sent the information about what I tried and the video links to the issue.

I am pretty shocked. I sent it in the original box, so I had to check the serial number to make sure they didn't just turn around and send mine back. Screen seems just as good as the one I sent in. Consistent colors, no obvious back light bleed... I haven't went on a dead/stuck pixel hunt, but I am not sure that I want to find any if they are there...

Glad to hear you had good luck with ASUS and hope that it fixes the issue. I have heard a lot of horror stories about them but it's good to know they sent a new monitor out without much pain.

All I can say bad so far is that the colors weren't as well calibrared out of the box, but that is a really easy fix for my Spyder 4 and Displaycal.
