Hi all,

I upgraded from a 1070 to a 3080ti and am having issues with my 3 display setup.  I have two monitors and 1 TV (HDMI out -> receiver -> TV), and this 3 display setup has been working fine for several years with my 1070.  After installing a 3080ti, I'm running into an issue where only 2 displays seem to able to be recognized at once.  Monitor 1 + monitor 2, no issues.  Monitor 1 + TV, no issues.   But when trying to run monitor 1 + monitor 2 + TV, as soon as the 3rd device is plugged in the system locks up.  Sometimes after unplugging the 3rd device the system will unfreeze, but often it requires a hard reset to fix.

I'm not thinking this is an issue with a faulty cable since this setup had been working fine for several years with my 1070ti.

For troubleshooting so far, I've updated my motherboard bios and ensured the 3080ti's VBIOS is up-to-date through Precision X1.

Any advice for next troubleshooting steps would be appreciated.  Thank you!

    Did you DDU your graphics driver and clean install it with the 3080ti when you upgraded?

    *Update*
    After continuing to troubleshoot I found out that this video card would work fine with a 3rd monitor, provided it was not hooked up through my receiver. There is some incompatibility with my particular AV receiver that was causing my system to lock up. As a workaround, I've plugged in my AV receiver / TV into my motherboard's HDMI port.

    I am having the exact same issue except all 3 of my devices are hooked directly to my 3080TI FTW3 Ultra. I have changed cables to all three devices. I have tried different monitors and tvs etc....result ultimately ends up the same. When all three devices are hooked up, 2 monitors via DP and one tv via HDMI the system will crash. When I first run the 3 displays, everything initially works fine. But after a short time the crash occurs. The only way to fix it is to unplug the HDMI tv. Like I said, I have tried two different Tv's via HDMI and a total of 3 different monitors via DP. I have swapped and upgraded all cables. All drivers are updated and installed clean. Any ideas? I'm not even playing a game or anything when this happens. I have a new EVGA 1000 watt platinum Power supply as well.

    Could you list the resolution, bit depth and refresh rate of the monitors? If you exceed the maximum pixel clock rate of the GPU, you can run into odd issues.

    Monitor 1=4K-10 bit-144hz
    Monitor 2=4K-8 bit-60hz
    TV=4K - 10bit-120hz

    That configuration is not going to work. You're exceeding both the output resolution capability and pixel clock of the GPU.

    ok.....can you tell me what numbers I'm looking for and how I would go about calculating my output resolution and pixel clock. On my GPU and monitor specs, not sure which numbers you're referring to. Thank you for helping me btw.
