My understanding is they have been closed for the holidays and today is the first day back. I would expect there to be some movement this week if not today.

Welp my watch has ended. I was able to get a 3080 FE in the best buy drop that happened today. Even better in that I figured out I could still return my 2060 KO I bought from Best Buy on October 29th! Crazy Holiday Return policy they have there!

Due to how long this process has taken and the fact that I'm in day 3 and nvidia leaks are coming about a 3080 super in the next couple months I sent an email asking about when it does come out if anyone currently signed up for 3080s would then get 3080 supers since it would be a direct replacement and put the 3080 into EoL. Their response was "we have no idea what you're talking about"

You called them asking about a leak. 3080supers 3080Tis , even 4080/4090s..
all sort of cards are being "leaked" of course they're going to tell you they have no idea what you're talking about. Even if they did they have NDAs and embargoes on that information.
They wouldn't tell you anyway.

I sent them a follow up email "Let me rephrase. If a step up item is discontinued prior to someone receiving the item, does the items direct replacement take its place?" Haven't heard anything back yet.

Their response "We have never had an item be discontinued before the step-up request was completed, so that would be unprecedented. At this time, we do not expect this to happen and would be unable to say for sure how this would work, in the very unlikely event that it does."

Current leaks, which I understand are for the most part to be taken worth a grain of salt, are indicating that nvidia is moving quickly on the 4000 series with the intention of a late 2021/ early 2022 release with a 3000 series refresh in between. That may all be bogus but normally when multiple sources all say the same thing it leans more to be true than false. Kind of like the 3080 rumors, all the leaks agreed on what the cuda count would be for almost a full year before release but ended up being wrong because nvidia changed the cuda structure and are claiming double the cores even though based on its new design it is closer to a SMT or hyperthreading situation than true double cuda cores.

You're delusional if that what you're expecting. Good to see that we are almost at the end of the list for 9/17 sign ups. Congrats to those who received their step 2s! Hoping things move along much quicker now. At first I felt disappointed that by the time the lists gets to where I’m at, the 3080 ti will be out if not officially announced. But at this point, with the price increase of GPUs imminent, even if I had the opportunity to buy a 3080 ti it would be financially out of reach with the increase.

congrats to people who got step 2 I received mine december 29 ! and its been amazing no problems at all runs smooth still and since another batch hit I think i wont be updating how my card is going black lid so good luck to the rest of yall hope you all get them :)
