looks like i had a little bit more left under the hood.

Ok, it's a photo finish, but it finally worked. This was with the gpu frequency at 2152 Mhz for most of the run, with a few dips down into 2139 Mhz. The memory was at 5508 MHz. In Precision X the offsets were +160 base/ +500 memory. My card is a 1080 SC. Gpu temperature was 49 C. This was definitely on the hairy edge of stability, as I saw artifacts a couple of times during the run. Also, earlier this evening, trying to use +170 base clock I crashed my machine several times.

I've got a UPS tracking number for my Core i7 6900, and with the FTW K and DDR4 3200 CL 14 RAM already collecting dust on my desk, this rebuild is going to happen much sooner than later. This score will climb probably quite a bit after that. I'm really curious to see how much of a difference it ends up making.

I think I know what sapped my performance a little. I haven't been overclocking my X58 machine with the Xeon 5680 using manual settings. I've been using the OC Genie button my motherboard, and letting the bios come up with a stable overclock. The reason is that with my locked multiplier, it's been quite a bother trying to find the right settings to actually match, much less exceed, what the OC Genie sets up for me. I think that after my machine crashed one of those times trying to do +170 gpu clock, the OC Genie changed my RAM settings on me, and the RAM is now running slower. I did some more testing last night in Fire Strike Extreme and Time Spy, and was not quite matching my previous records that were set with slightly lower gpu and video memory speeds.

I'll make another attempt at figuring out all the settings the OC Genie uses, then try to nudge the RAM speed back up a little. I'm doing it to learn, now, since I'll probably have rebuilt my machine with the new cpu/mobo/ram by this time next week and it will all be different, but I'm really curious now, and would like to know exactly what's going on.

Here is mine... 1080 FTW  +85 Core and +500 Memory...    I can't seem to get higher on the core. Most people are getting def more out than I am.   Even with these settings, games do not crash but Firestrike and TimeSpy do.     Heaven seems fine.

I'm starting my card has issues, it seems to play everything fine but crashes all the benchmark/stress test now... Even at stock speeds :(

Really awesome, and a what a nice OC, with EVGA Hybrid things get a lot better!

36% more power than my 1080FE SLI stock cooler.

Congrats!

Thanks, Titan XP is awesome. Precision or Afterburner or custom bios will unleash the true power of Titan XP.

I'm starting my card has issues, it seems to play everything fine but crashes all the benchmark/stress test now... Even at stock speeds :(

Can you tell us the actual gpu clock speed and memory speed that it ran at during the test? If you set the OSD to show these it will tell us more than a simple offset setting. For one, each card has a different base clock so we'd have to know all of these to do the math, and for two, thanks to Boost 3.0 the offset setting won't necessarily be the clock speed you actually run at, which will be temperature and power limit limited.

Also, if you think your 1080 FTW isn't clocking as well as others, I should mentioned that my 1080 SC is only able to run at 2139 or 2152 MHz since I installed the EK full coverage water block. It was usually topping out at 2038 or 2050 or so when it was air cooled. I'd bet if your FTW was water cooled you'd see a better OC. If you set your power limit to 120% that will help, provided you can keep it cool. That's another advantage of water cooling: 120% power limit presents zero temperature problems under water.

Edit: I wanted to add, my previously posted result was made with my 1080 SC running at 2152 Mhz. It was stable enough to complete the test multiple times, but every few seconds I'd see a graphics artifact. I did some more testing, dropping my offset a little at a time, and can run the Heaven or Valley benchmark all the way through, without seeing any artifacts, at 2139 Mhz. So that's where I'll leave it.

2152 on your SC is amazing even after i did full water block on mine i still cant get past +70 core best i have got was 2063 stable :(

Absolutely, I'll get exacts soon as I get home.   I'm def set to 120% power and temp limit 83C.  I had it at 2113Mhz @ 71c but GTA5 crashed and HomeFront crashed.   But I'm starting to think they didn't crash due to the OC since I put it to stock, both games crashed again.

That's a bummer. Sorry to hear that. While I was able to run through benchmarks at +150, I'm gaming at +130 now, and turn it down to +100 for folding@home. This means I'm usually at 2088MHz during folding@home and up to 2129Mhz and occasionally 2152Mhz during gaming. It all changes up and down a little though, as the load changes and in different programs or games or whatever.

I went back and ran this with my rebuild (indicated below) and this test is so gpu-bound that I saw just about the smallest difference in performance between this new machine and my previous build using the same 1080 that I've seen in any test or benchmark.

I could get slightly better results than this but I've dialed back a bit to make sure it's stable during any of my current uses.
