Thank you CoercionShaman and Avenger411.

Yeah that does look great, nice job!

I personally went with ShadowYuna's mod with the EVGA block and it worked out great.  Really impressed with the performance of the AIO, I was a little bit skeptical if it was worth it but wow its a massive difference.  I will have to look into getting a 2nd now.

Thanks again to ShadowYuna for the idea and fast responses!

Thanks.
I thought about similar to ShadowYuna's mod solution, however my concern was to send all heat from VRAM out of the PC case so I have to use EVGA AIO solution to keep all closed as much as I can.
I am very impressed with temps, only few things will be nice to have on the AIO board, like pump with variable speed and possibility to control speed of fans on radiator depending on water block temp. But I hope EVGA will add it into next version of it

Is it possible to work somehow?

Unless something has changed that I'm not aware of, you have to use a modified physx driver hack to make it work.

What use is knowledge if there is no understanding?~Stobaeus

The money I have spend on this mod is around 400 dollars total. It may be similar price for custom loop water cooling. But due to it can use on any other Geforce reference card at the moment , I am happy with perfromance , Noise and Looks.

I wanted to keep the green Geforce GTX LED. That is why I start this mod.

That's awesome work! So you bought 2 evga AIO kits only for the copper plate...Wow!

Hi guys! Has anyone using TX with EVGA AIO 980 cooler achieved some good overclocking results, not possible on stock air? For example using customized EVGA HC BIOS(MAXAIR2, 1.25-1.26V, 450W TDP) lets me go as far as 1470-1480 MHz boost clock on stock air - could this be further improved by changing to hybrid AIO? I understand that I'll get less noise(I have to use 4800 rpm of stock cooler to overclock), but what about overclocking possibilities?

Hey,

Well if the core is cooler then you can push it higher since you have a custom bios, otherwise the chip is limited by voltage input. So my guess is that with the AIO not only you'll get less noise but your temps will allow for more in-depth overclocking. So i'd recommend it.

Plus it looks way more killer! Add in the backplate to that and you're in business.

Haven't had mine yet but found this review by Gamers Nexus about 980 ti hybrid. For some reason I couldn't post the link with my iPad.

Just google gtx 980 ti review and you will find it. Hope it answers your question.

No, and you shouldn't expect it to.

My TX hit 1450MHz stable boost clock on air, and after using multiple different BIOSes and tweaking voltage with the AIO hybrid cooler it rose to 1455MHz.  And even that is questionable, it was likely stable at 1455MHz on air as well (close, within the margin of error).

BUT...it's an F-ton quieter, which is what I was really after in the first place.  Love the AIO, couldn't go back to living without it heh.

Hm, maybe yours was just already good. What BIOSes you tried? Mine hits about 1420-1430 boost on air and it seems to be able to achieve 1470-1480(but not 1500 even in short test) with the latest "maxair" BIOS (130-140% TP/TDP, 1.26V, 3DMark passes, have not tested for stability yet) but this voltage is too hot even at max RPM. And this BIOS is not usable at default "auto" rpm - temp rises too quick, so it's only usable on liquid(hybrid) cooler or only max RPM air(too much noise).

tl;dr

Can the cooler in the hybrid models be switched with a round-pump-type Asetek (making the assumption the OEM is Asetek) cooler, for instance an H100i or other 240mm type AIO cooler?

[edit]: Ok nvm, I see that it can be done.

Just quick update. Due to annoying pump noise from EVGA Hyrbid Cooler I decided to modify my old Corsir H75 with Hybrid Cooler. Since they are from same OEM product it perfectly fit.

No more pump noise either on idle or full load. Also with this mod I can install 280mm rad all in one cooler to graphic card(Like H110) or 140mm rad all in one cooler(Like H90).

I was just wondering did EVGA used cheap pump on their Hybrid Cooler? Since they are same OEM how come there is pump noise on Hybrid but no pump noise on Corsiar H75?

I have one more question for you. When you remove the copper plate to replace, will it leak? I don't know what's inside it. Should I be aware of anything?
Thank you!

Or do you need to remove the copper plate? Do you just switch that mounting bracket to another cooler?

Edit: nevermind...you need to remove the copper plate.

Got my hybrid kit put on my 980 ti SC's and wow.  Really impressed.  Don't like where I have the radiator though (front of the case, pulling air in)...stretches the hoses tighter than I would like..gotta figure out something to pull them in a  little closer.  Kept the lights though even with the shroud.

Highly recommend the hydro kit/card.

Another question: is 980(or titan X) EVGA hybrid cooler compatible with ancient Zalman GS1200 case? In general this case is not good for CPU water cooling, for example there's no proper place inside for 240 mm rad. But Maybe 120 mm is OK?

Selling my 2 coolers on ebay for those in the UK.

Wanted to use for SLI but I found there was no way to fit in the case.  The radiator is larger than the 120mm fan.

I would have had to mount externally which is difficult with a closed loop cooler and would mean cutting large holes in the case.

Finally got everything the way I like it, I think.  Had to use a couple of things from another case to move the radiators a few inches closer to the gpu's so there isn't as much tension as there was when I ran them all the way to the front of the case.  Love these 980 ti kits.

Did you cut out the geforce gtx led? or was that something you bought seperate? looks nice but feel like it would void warranty.

Now look very nice with GeForce logo. Many people bought reference cooler mostly because nice design.
I like and silver and black version.

I really like improvement from TITAN Black to TITAN X.
Overclocked TITAN X is almost as TITAN Black SLI strong...
