Is there an overclock thread anywhere? I'm having a heck of a time trying to get past 1500~ MHz! Even with up to 1.287v, I get crashes even without a memory OC. Yet, on stock voltages (1.15~V?), I hit 1400~ MHz and 8000 MHz memory with no issues.

I suggested that someone create on separate from this post but no one did. http://forums.evga.com/FindPost/2331527
Maybe you could start a new Thread on the Overclocking of the GTX Titan X Graphics Cards.

There's some titan x reference coolers on eBay if anyone's interested in cutting one. I just got one.

They're not mine but Ive been following this thread. I thought someone might want to get an extra cooler. I want an extra one to cut to make room for the hoses to come out in case I mess up the original housing.

Re: The Official Titan X and HYBRID Water Cooler (All in One) for GTX 980 Thread 2015/05/09 19:19:44 (permalink)
So I discovered something interesting... I noticed my 2nd GPU blower fan had an RPM of about 810,000... yeah right. Figured maybe the RPM number was botched for some reason due to the cooler, and things seemed okay, so I left it alone.

Well, as it turns out, my GPU fan was probably running at about 10% and at times was shutting OFF. I looked at it in BF4 and the thing wasn't spinning at all! But the temps of the GPU core were fine - equal to the 1st GPU. I am pretty surprised the VRMs didn't blow/melt/whatever else.

When I installed the cooler, I had a fun time trying to get the 4-pin fan connector plugged into the splitter because it was pinched between a capacitor and the front reinforcement/thermal plate. I tugged a good bit and couldn't get it loose, so I just managed to plug it in how it was. Well, I disassembled the card to test the GPU blower fan plugged in by itself to find this!:

Wires look smashed/melted together! Thankfully, after freeing the wires from their choke hold, the fan is working fine. I don't think I can really RMA the card since it's working, but jeez... what a joke! Hopefully it'll be fine for years to come... I debated playing surgeon and soldering in new wire, but that'd surely void the warranty.

Good catch Nitemare3219, this also may help others with that 4-Pin Fan Connecter you have shown above.
Some would call that a Friday Afternoon Card.

I had exactly the same thing on one of my evga sc cards the lead was jammed between the capacitor and the outer casing, I managed to free mine and the wires don't look as damaged as yours however I'm keeping an eye on the fan cooler and if it starts having issues I will put the original casing back on (currently using a 980 gtx aio cooler) and will rma it but no point arm as long as it's working...

Not implying you did this, but this is the reason why you have to route the GPU fan wire similarly shown in the instructions. I am seeing people taking "shortcuts" and just routing the wire straight over to the pump instead of looping around the GPU fan. The shroud will pinch down on the fan cable unless it's routed exactly. There's only a small portion of the shroud that won't pinch after you loop it around the GPU fan going to the pump. Just look at the shroud upside down when installing and you'll see the small area it won't pinch.

That might be true but the lead is found trapped before installing the new shroud, the only reason I found mine was trapped was taking off the original shroud to fit the new cooler so it must have been trapped from the manufacture of the card, however apart for the leads looking a bit squashed it doesn't seem to have done any permenant damage and I have routed the new lead around the case of the card and secured as per the instructions for installing...

I know, see quote below. I already asked him to give us a little more info here:

EVGA_JacobF
The existing Hybrid cooler fits perfectly fine on a TITAN X, even the shroud fits, it just says GTX 980 on it.

Regarding an "official" Hybrid cooler for TITANX, this is something in the works.

KK Kingpin
Jacob, can you elaborate a little more on the TitanX Hybrid AiO-Cooler?
I'm looking to upgrade my two 780Ti cards hence my interest.
Greetings

Maybe Jacob can chime in...

What I am curious about is will it be a better cooler than what's provided for the 980 or will it be just a different shroud.

Hey,

READ the thread. He said "just a new shroud". So they'll keep the 980aio cooler and only add a titan x shroud. Please read the thread it will only take you 5-10mins and you'll have all the info.

Re: The Official Titan X and HYBRID Water Cooler (All in One) for GTX 980 Thread 2015/05/11 20:01:17 (permalink)
Hey guys!

So yeah my build is now FINAL! (besides a intel 750 400gb nvme and a sm951 256nvme) i got everything working like i want. So since the purpose of this thread was the 980 AiO hybrid on a titan x i'll elaborate a little bit on my findings.
At first i had the stock fan in push mode which would give me +/- 30c idle and +/- 47-49c 100% load. Now i've removed the stock fan and replaced it by 2xsp120's (plugged on motherboard @max rpm and still very silent) and my temps are as follows.
Idle : +/- 23c-24c, load 100% +/- 41-43c. So yeah you can see on my pictures that the 980aio radiator is a the bottom of my case and i have 2x af140's full rpm (silent silent) right in front so the rad get's fresh air all the time and it is pushing through the bottom of the case.
Bottom line, very very please with the case (corsair 780t) and the 980AiO cooler. Push/Pull really confirmed the necessity of this accessory. They should do it for every freakin gpu imo.

Have a good night !

Hey,

Depend on your preference. I do not know your case so i cannot tell you where to mount it. But for the fans, i'd tell you to get 2x corsair sp120's. I am quite pleased with those right now. Plus them on the motherboard not on the aio connector.

Front 2x140mm/ 120mm or 1x200mm
(1 x 200mm included)
Rear 1x140mm (included) / 120mm
Bottom 2x120mm
Side 1x140mm
Top 2x200mm/ 140mm or 3x120mm

Thats is how mine is setup except i don't have any fans in the bottom

Hey,

I'd tell you to do the exactly what i did.

Front : intake
Bottom : exhaust (gpu rad)
Top : Exhaust
Back : Exhaust

The thing is that you must have good fans up front otherwise you'll end up with negative air pressure which we do not want.

well I was thinking of getting a bracket to exhaust out the side. the bottom has a filter to pull in and i already have negative air pressure as it is and i would like to fix it. in the top I have 140mm noctuas and a 140mm noctua in the back all exhausting but i only have 1 200mm in the front thats the stock fan problem is I cant really find any better 200mms and i am thinking of swapping it out for 2 140mms. As for the sp120s the regular version or quiets ?

Re: The Official Titan X and HYBRID Water Cooler (All in One) for GTX 980 Thread 2015/05/12 05:39:55 (permalink)
I installed a pair of them over the weekend and love how much the temps dropped and now I am more confused why my PSU seems to be the loudest thing in my box now. I will say this because of how much trouble it was, I never wanted to hit you people with a brick so badly EVGA. I had to hand drill out seven screws between two cards and I couldn't understand how most the screws are fine by then boom one that is so full of that blue stuff the thing strips. Also somehow I got metal splinters in my finger from the textured silver cover bit, still no idea how that happened and this wasn't really the easiest thing to do with big monster hands. I had to use bits of electrical tape to keep the fan wires out of the way after I messed up the included bits of tape. I still can't believe I had to use a chuck with a grip bit in it on my screwdriver and manually crank it till it finally grip the stripped screw. I think each card took four hours with all the stopping I had to do and the missing steps from the directions in the box.

No it seems I am just stupid, I took the title of the post to be talking about the hybrid kits were out for both the 980 and the titan x. My adventure was with a pair of 980's, sorry my mistake.
