Crimson AL Titan would have been out almost a year when Volta comes out so I'd be okay if I had bought a Titan...and I would have if there was a hybrid for it.
You can use the AIO 1080 Hybrid Cooler on the Titan XP, you just can't put part of the shroud back on - check out this video for details. No physical modding required so you can change it back to stock air cooling for resale later.

I wonder if the G10 will work with the midplate still on. I have a few copper shims for GPU die contact too. My only concern would be that 92mm fan for the VRM. Think it's enough?

As said above, the EVGA 1080 Hybrid kit works on the Titan X Pascal without modification if you do: - Remove the stock heat sink and outer shroud - Keep the existing PCB heat spreader --- But you do have to remove to get at the fan connector...be careful...cheap fan connector on the Titan X P - Attach the EVGA 1080 Hybrid pump to the card Here is a quick build log from when I did it: http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/776114-Build-Log-JrClocker-s-Titan-X-P-AIO-Hybrid-Cooler-Mod?p=7965013#post7965013 Additionally, I replaced the fan on the radiator with Corsair ML120 Maglev fans in push/pull. My Titan X P is currently running at 2075 MHz for the GPU, and stays below 50 C during heavy gaming and folding @ home usage (what is does when I am not gaming). ...and...it's very quiet!

I understand, it's just that I have a spare h105 laying around. All I'd need is the $25 g10 bracket. It won't look as nice as yours either lol. Thanks for the guide, though. I'll keep an eye out for that fan connector. And, yeah, who cares if Volta is coming out. I'd say there's a good chunk of us here who just want the bleeding edge tech and can afford the extra costs involved. Just like the guy above me said, I'll sell the XP and get Volta when the time comes.

I have some old AIO coolers laying around too. I did some research on the various brackets from NZXT, Corsair, etc...just too much hit and miss. My fear is that you would either get bad GPU contact, or "too good" GPU contact and end up crushing/crashing the GPU chip. If you google the EVGA 1080 hybrid kit, you'll see that the pump mount is different than the CPU mounts. Namely, it's recessed to line up properly. The kit costs about $100 or so...and the change in noise from a hair dryer to smooth blowing air was well worth it for me - hehe - not to mention cooler GPU and better overclocks!

Bah, I suppose you're right. It's too risky using a shim against the die. I'll buy the 1080 Hybrid kit.

Guessing the 980ti hybrid kit wouldn't be good to use on the titan? I found one with the plastic wrap still on the box in my closet.

Gamer's Nexus installed the 980ti kit onto a 1080 FE. So it may work for a Titan. http://www.gamersnexus.ne...t-lower-higher-oc-room

This is what worried me: "Disassembly was already covered here. We'd advise against doing this – there's inherent risk, it's not particularly trivial, and the GTX 980 Ti Hybrid's bracket is not compatible with the GTX 1080's base plate. The tessellation prohibits screw alignment, so we ran the card more “bare” and focused, again, on function over cosmetics. Honestly, it didn't look that bad all assembled; the GTX 1080 looks good in all black."

Iluv2raceit You jumped the gun too fast. The GTX1080Ti is not coming out now and the leaked specs were faked. Too bad, so sad. Guess we'll just have to wait until later next year if ever... By the time the GTX1080Ti is released, Volta will be ~6 months out...lol
That's normally how it always is, and it's proven again and again that the next release doesn't provide that big of a margin to consider jumping the bandwagon to buy the next cards. The 1080 is roughly 20-30% faster than a 980TI. 1080 might be faster, but the 980TI would provide smoother gameplay, IMO . The same result(s) will happen when the 1080TI comes out. The one thing that will stand out for the TI's (always) is the extra bandwidth and larger bit rate. Here are some results for your enjoyment: http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-1080-vs-Nvidia-GTX-980-Ti/3603vs3439
The 980 vs 780TI is even funnier: http://gpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Nvidia-GTX-980-vs-Nvidia-GTX-780-Ti/2576vs2165 Let's not forget also what's going to happen to all you Titan XP guys when Volta does come out.
Meh, it's all pointless. There is always the next best thing coming out. You really do need to get over this issue if you are going to survive in the tech world.

I have my water cooled Titan XP GPU overclocked to 2088Mhz and memory to 11000Mhz. The GPU starts out at 2108Mhz, but then drops after a few minutes down to 2088Mhz, where it remains for the rest of the benchmarking (Unigine Heaven). Using more voltage does not help at all, so it's most likely a BIOS limiting factor that ties a temperature threshold with the max allowable clock speed. Max GPU temps never exceed 50C under full load with that overclock enabled. The silicone lottery comes into play, I'm sure. But, from what other Titan XP owners are showing, my clocks are actually above average for a water cooled card.

I was able to get my Titan X P to 2000 MHz GPU on the air cooler. I am running the core now at 2100 MHz with the AIO cooler. I did have to bump the voltage "50%" to keep it stable. I am only overclocking my memory by 100 MHz right now (never really saw that much of a performance improvement for overclocking memory...I would rather have the "power" from the power limit available for the GPU.

I'll give that a try when I get home...only use 100Mhz on memory and push the GPU a bit more to keep it above 2100Mhz. Should be easy enough as I'm almost there already and actually may not even need to overvolt. Oh, and my system is near silent with the Titan overclocked and benchmarking or gaming :D

Yeah, true. What matters most (to me - if not to everybody) is what "you" like, and when you're ready to upgrade, just pull the trigger and get the next upgrade.
