I'm looking forward to seeing this in the wild. I hope we see it retail in the US.

Pre-orders are up on Newegg. I'm getting one. I was looking at another Caselabs case like this, but the cost is high (but you get more options). This looks like a similar product with a lot of options but a lot cheaper. I've always had good luck with TT cases too. Release date is 29JAN.

There are those who consider TT and all their products to be the laughing stock. Thermatake is a source in general of mockery or ridicule from the PC-DIY/Gamer elite. In fairness to those who would besmirch them TT doesn't have a stellar record of producing high quality stuff but you have hit the nail on the head. This new series ticks a lot of boxes for watercooler's looking for a reasonably priced and functional alternative to Caselab's $400 to $700 w/add ons alternative. At the $150 price point for an E-ATX cube case with tons of included features, it's looking very attractive to the budget conscious and those who meticulously maintain their stuff. Although I'm not prepared to recommend it, atm, I can say I eagerly await a bonafide/respected review of the series before I pass judgement. Even if the reviews go well though be prepared to be laughed at, if you buy one. I do hope TT has turned the page to a bright future. It does look like they're going head over heels into the LCS market but it remains to be seen if they have produced quality products.

Im glad more horizontal cases are coming out especially for e-atx. This size peoplr typically have 2-3 gpu and i feel like that cant br good for the mobo in the long run. Especially since out gpu are getting bigger and more people run watercooling.

I haven't had a TT case in a while. The last one I bought was a Xaser VI and it was a great case. But then, that was many many years ago it was built with study metal and has taken a lot of abuse and was a great WC case. Still have it. I have stayed away from them recently because they went the plastic route with lots of LED fans over quality. Maybe they are swinging back? I bought a CaseLabs Magnum double wide and although an incredible case, they are expensive. I was looking for a horizontal case but, it would be another at least $400+ to get what I wanted from them. This X9, looks like they modeled it after some of the Caselabs models and brought mass production and some other savings (using plastic) to it. I haven't seen where it is stated what it is made out of, but I am assuming a metal/aluminum frame and plastic for everything else. For $170 for what you get it seems to be a good deal. Stackable is an interesting take. If these can take 3-4 high, the bottom case better be made of something strong to support the weight above it. As for others? If it works for me I could care less what they think. The manual is up on the TT site, and after reading through it, for the price I'm going to chance it. I can always return it. It's for my secondary gaming/office machine, so it's not WC at the moment, I have time to see how it works out.

I got the notice today, they must have come in early. I got my notice my X9 is being packed up, so it should ship out tomorrow. I'll see how it compares to the build on my Caselabs case.

It came tonight. I'll open it in the morning and start a thread on it I guess. Big box, 40+ lbs. I have to wait on the build though. I decided to upgrade the PSU, and I am waiting for the 970SSC backplates to go on sale. But, I'll unpack and get some pics up.

Nereus MountainMods ftw.
It's good stuff, but after customization the prices go up on the E-ATX models. More options though.
