I've been registered on here awhile but never really posted, just read.  I live in Missouri but I'm moving to China in a couple months.  
 
I have been an EVGA fan for awhile, my first card was an EVGA 7900GS, which I still have and works perfect even after all the abuse I put it through in college!

Hello everyone!  I am a game enthusiast, I have owned or played all of the consoles since the N64 except the Xbox One, and I've had every major handheld except the Atari Lynx, Wonder Swan, Neo Geo Pocket, and PSP.
I first got into PC gaming when I bought myself a computer as my 20th birthday present in 2006 (I was working as a QA tester at SEGA at the time, testing Full Auto 2, a launch window game for the soon-to-be released PS3.  As I was waiting for my PC to be assembled and shipped, I walked into an Electronics Boutique store to take a gander at what there was to play on PC.  I didn't have much money, so I had to pick between Deus Ex Gold Edition (or Game of the Year) or Half-Life collection, which had Half-Life Source, Counter Strike Source, HL2, and HL2:E1.  I picked the second option, along with a Serious Sam game that I picked up for $8.  When Dell finally shipped my computer almost 2 months (!) later, I was blown away by how good HL2 was.  I never had seen a game that had looked that sharp or that beautiful before, and the physics in that game, and how smoothly everything ran was unlike anything I had seen before.  Looking back, I had amazing instinct choosing between two classics as my entry to PC gaming; I literally new nothing about PC games when I walked there, and picked those up purely based on instinct.
 
Anyways nowadays I am a stay at home father of a 2yo, so I don't have any time to play games anymore.  Prior to that I was a caretaker, and I had a YouTube channel that documented the homeless problem here in San Francisco.  With preschool being so expensive here (~2.4k a month) and my wife making more than me, it didn't make much sense for me to go work taking care of elderly people while losing money paying someone else to raise my own child, so my life is pretty much on hold while I wait for my child to be old enough to go to kindergarten.  My YT channel has pretty much withered on the vine meanwhile, which makes me quite sad as I had worked very hard over the course of years to build it up to what it was.

The name is Lucky, a nickname I've had since I was young. I'm now a college student, chasing a degree in Computer Science. I'm in the process of building my first rig ever, and I'm down to needing one part. Unfortunately, it's the graphics card, and being that I want to game and more at 4K, it seems as though a 1080Ti is the way to go. Just hoping the stock comes back soon and prices can drop back to normal.

Got inspired to try to create my own channel to teach people about PC tech and other things called Tech News 4 Tech Noobs.....never went anywhere unfortunately.
Still aspire to put out builds as beautiful as builders like Snef, Singularity, and a few other modders out there.

Hey, everyone. Long-time EVGA fan and proud member of the PC Master Race. I'm a journalist, I work from home and I love fluffy animols - I have 3 cats, a bird and 2 aging doggos.
 
As far as systems go, I built my current rig a couple years ago. Had I known I'd be making the jump to 144Hz gaming, I may have snagged a higher-end video card at the time.
 
For now, I'm rocking a 4690K, a GTX 970 (Not EVGA... I know, I know...), 16GB DDR3 RAM and a 500GB SSD. It serves me well enough, but I'd definitely like to kick things up a notch with a 1080 Ti.
