Missed my chance.. didn't see the notice till 2:30 am and tried to log in and got locked out for too many attempts. Got up today and fixed thst but not enough time to debate it.. Rather have the Classified if either.
Not sure I'm in the mood to deal with the wife with the idea of blowing 4-5k on a new build atm.

Think you're going to washer mod the board? Based on Luumi's testing I don't think it may as big of an issue with the Dark (it's a hefy boi).

i'll def be lapping whichever ends up being my best 12900K. not sure if i'll get to it this week as we've had contractors here last 2 days so I have a bunch of residual cleanup on my to do list. hoping to test ram oc first, have a few kits to push, the dom plats and oloy blades (both 6200) and a couple of the 6000 gskill. hope to get these above the advertised board limit and maybe unlock the pmic for the oloy kit (has the 10 layer pcb) these are the washers I grabbed https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MX9CWJT/ @redteamgo THANK YOU for fixing my photo post. can you tell i'm a software dev by trade? lol

Keep us up to date with the testing, will be interesting to see where you land. Haven't used Oloy before, so will be nice to see some comparison to the big guns. I'm thinking I'll give lapping a try this go around. I preferred getting the CPUs delidded, but now it just seems too risky. Need to find myself a nice chunk of glass. May make a trip to Home Depot to see if they have similar washer. Not sure what I'd do with the other 196 washers. I wonder if I can 3D print them. Can't think of a reason PLA would be worse than nylon. FYI, PLA is not very stable under temp fluctuations. Be careful as they may just melt at worst case or change dimension due to thermal swings.

Yeah best bet, Nylon has good dimensional stability over a wide temp range, it can absorb moisture and become brittle over time, but in the computer case environment its highly unlikely. I use mcmaster.com for work, I am a mechanical design engineer. I think the EVGA score is a big factor. Going by the time stamp / score vs who received notifications.

Zippy, what are you using to cool the water?
Last time I did anything like this was in the mid 2000s with an evaporator heat exchanger connected to a small refrigeration kit.
