Hi everyone!

Wanted to start a thread for may help aggregate some things/ideas to add to the bios for better tweaking and user experience.

A few things off the top of my head for the Dark

Memory:
- Add support to change/set tRFCpb/sb and tRFC2
- Add ability to toggle whether memory training is done every boot.
- Like above, add ability to force train after bios save and exit, so it happens when you exit the current bios (xoc calibration kind of does this, but it requires a 'save' first, which must be done through a 'save and restart' frist, then go back in the bios then do 'xoc calibration)
- Add memory profiles that do not affect other areas of the bios.
- Add per dimm PMIC voltage settings
- Add PMIC Switching frequency adjustments

Misc:
- Add ASPM settings for pcie

I'm sure I have more but these are kinda the 'top of the list' for me.

Cheers!

that's a great list for real, especially tRFC_pb and being able to force retraining.

I think re-training should automatically get triggered when changing DDR5 related voltages, like VDD2, CPU VDDQ, SA, VDD, VDDQ

Another idea, regarding safeboot: Instead of "last known good", it would be great to also have an alternative "JEDEC safeboot" setting you can pick in the bios. I've had to clear cmos a few times after switching memory kits because of that.

Renesas P8911Y0 "locked" PMIC unlock would also be great, for cheaper JEDEC Hynix modules. MSI, Asus, Gigabyte can do it already. Afaik you can workaround the lock by sending a special command to the PMIC to unlock, but then you have to request 600 mV more for VDD/VDDQ due to VID table offset. So internally when workaround is active, BIOS would need to request 2.0 for 1.4 VDD or VDDQ. VPP does not seem affected by the offset.

other than that, I'm very impressed with the board already. so far 7200c31 1T benchable, rev 1.2.0, bios 1.09

Edit: would also be great to have an explanation for the "PMIC turbo modes" added

Wanted to also add for memory:
    - Ability to set below 12 for tRTP (ideally minimum 1).
    - Prevent PMIC Turbo Modes from locking minimum CPU VDDQ. Can still soft set the voltage, just would like to be able to change it to work for lower values (example: pmic turbo mode 4 sets 1.35v and allows higher voltage to be set, but doesn not allow lower voltage to be set).

can you explain a scenario where you'd want turbo mode above 2 with voltage this low? my understanding of turbo mode was that it helps in xoc scenarios where you'd expect higher volts but i'm curious to hear you unwrap this if you would

Luumi himself said he has found a lot of stability in the 1.225-1.3 range under cold. I am guessing pmic turbo may also change the switching frequencies of the ram itself, much like how the Apex has manual control for, which can be very beneficial for stability at ambient. Granted, we don't know what pmic turbo changes in the first place, though that would be nice to know. If it tightest up background timings and settings for the memory, would be nice to take advantage of it for daily use as well.

Personally, anything below 7100/30 (1t or 2t) requires 1.25v-1.325v for maximum stability.
