The developers decided that Vulkan is the way forward for gaming development.

But but but... dx12 has multigpu support across multiple manufacturers that will allow crossfire/sli compatability! I will be able to get the best of all worlds! I have been told this for nesrly 3 yesrs, and havent seen it, so it has to be true!

Hopefully vulkan is what they need, because dx12 has been nothing but a sham compared to the hype so far.

That prog doesnt utilize sli anyways. OpenGL is usually the best choice anyways for the most accurate emulation with vulkan being best performance.

All of the initial dx12 promises have been falling behind, whether something utilize sli or not.

Huh? You haven't been paying attention. Here's a review from over a year ago with multi-gpu cross vendor support: http://www.anandtech.com/show/10067/ashes-of-the-singularity-revisited-beta/4

While Ashes is using the only engine I know of with heterogeneous gpu support, there are plenty of homogeneous multi gpu DX12 games out, Desu Ex: MD, Hitman, The Division, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Total War: Warhammer, GOW4, Civ VI, and probably more I don't know about.

It's gonna take time for devs to learn how to properly take advantage of heterogeneous gpus, but it is happening.

I think the sarcasm comes with the fact that I havent seen any publishing, outside of very few ashes of the singularity tests, showing a Nvidia and a Radeon card working together. I would love to see it actually working, but from everything I have seen, it was a failed attempt at making waves and getting fans.

Looking on google and found a whole bunch of articles about explicit GPU's and how well they work... in Ashes. Then they were all from last year and they all said ashes was the only program able to utilize it properly because they designed it that way. When was it that NVidia made it to where their gpu's didnt work if they detected a Radeon card in the system? Wasnt that shortly after the Explicit gpu test?

I thought this was a thread pertaining to dolphin emu....
Which it needs faster 4core cpus and not gpus to run the more demanding games. I think monster hunter is the most demanding where u might need kaby lake x on nitrogen to run it with bloom on.

I think it's the Wii and Gamecube emulator. I am not surprised a development team like this would be dropping DX12 as they do Mac and Linux as well.

Microsoft is too busy randomly changing things in Windows 10 Creative update breaking OS installs to bother actually working towards DX12 living up to the hype.

I think you might misunderstand how DX12/Vulcan work. It is on the engine developer to implement the load balancing between the GPUs now, not the GPU driver. Stardock decided to go for it when they made the Ashes engine and they are doing a great job of it. No one else seems to have bothered as it's a super niche thing. So I'm not sure why that makes it a failed attempt to make waves, DX12 does exactly what they said it does. Go buy a copy of Ashes if you want to support the idea of NV/AMD combo systems, or bug the devs of games you play to implement it. DX12 did it's part already, it's on the devs now.

I have not seen anything about NV disabling their GPUs if AMD is detected, not sure where you got that.

For GOW4 you must also update to Windows 10 Creator Version and the Current NVIDIA Driver.
But then Microsoft is misunderstanding Microsoft Windows 10 Creator and what the end users really wants in the end.
