Hi I have evga black 2080 ti for 1.5 years n thinking of upgrading next couple months n put 2080ti in secondary computer. I noticed the texture fill rate isn’t much different between 2080 ti and 3080 (both mid to high 400’s gt/s. The boost speed on my card is usually 1740-1795 with no mods.

Why isn’t the fill rate higher with the doubling of cuda cores and increase speed of memory?

Because texture fill rate doesn't measure cuda cores or memory.  It's simply GPU clock speed x # of TMUs.  Since the 2080 Ti and 3080 have the same number of TMUs, the only real difference will be clock speed.

I'm just letting you know that notifications still aren't working. Nothing in spam either. Is Gmail, but it would be odd if it just completely filtered it out. All other EVGA emails go straight to my mailbox.

Oh it seems like texture fill rate is important on performance but the Cuda cores have more to do with processing power. Ok thanks for the explanation. I just want over 60 FPS in all games, and the 2080 ti does good but not always there. Ark evolved and Red Dead R2 for example.

The other thing to realize is you are comparing a $800 MSRP card to a $1500 MSRP card.  Gains from the XX80Ti to the YY80 have always been relatively small, it's just this time the YY80 is for sale for $700 less than the listed MSRP for the XX80Ti.  Graphics cards have finally had the price correction they've been needing for the past 3 years.  The 3080 seems to be pretty solid at holding 60FPS at 4K for most games, so if you are running a GSync monitor you should get some pretty pleasing visuals.  If you are an early adopter and running a 4K 120/144Hz monitor it will be a generation or two before you hit your monitor's FPS cap.

Yes the 2080 ti I got was the $999 one and I like it but it’s destined for my secondary computer with 27 inch 4K 120hz monitor. My main computer is hooked up to 43 inch Acer 120hz and my LG C9 4k120 via hdmi 2.1. All support Gsync. I have been waiting 1 1/2 years for hdmi 2.1 to show up so 3080 would be nice as the oled should look great.

The 2080ti Black was and is priced at $1199, wasn’t it? That’s not a $1500 card. And it was not a $1500 MSRP, ever.

The black edition comparisons is a 10% increased texture fill rate for $500 less.  Comparing the 2080Ti FTW3 Ultra vs the 3080 FTW3 from EVGA's store right now shows a $1499 vs an $809 card which is a $690 price difference for 2.5% increased texture fill rate.  The community currently seems to be bemoaning performance metrics like these that make the 3080 not seem like much of an upgrade from currently available products, even though it's finally representing a much needed price correction in the graphics card industry for team green.
