Hey guys.

So for some time now I've been having a problem with my computer, it is randomly shutting itself down, and I thought it maybe be because of some kind of shorting or MB is bad. The problem is that I pretty much tried to change every component except MB and CPU, and it all seemed to work.

What leads me to think it is the PSU is that almost every single time it shuts down, the MB gives me a warning that the anti-surge protection kicked it and I tried disabling it to no avail.. Also one day it would pretty much shut down just seconds after turning it on, so what I did was to test with another PSU, so I tried a Corsair GS650 that I have laying around and connected everthing to the NEX1500 except motherboard ( all connectors cpu/atx cable, etc ), and GPU.. this parts were connected to the corsair and guess what? it isn't shutting down anymore so did this PSU just gave her soul to the creator? :p

What do you guys think?

This is the 2nd PSU and man Shipping for RMA is quite expensive here in Portugal and it isn't actually a good time to spend money like this ( student budget for now :/ )

Right now I'm running as in this photo and everthing is fine..

Best Regards!

Go to the ASUS Support website for your motherboard to get/install the latest BIOS which may include an Anti Surge fix..Grab HWiNFO and run it for a while to check the Min/Max voltages stay within spec which are shown below..Sometimes Anti Surge is triggered by a faulty surge protector strip or Uninterruptable Power Supply, if you have, try plugging the PSU directly into the wall socket..Almost certainly (but not always) the PSU is bad/running outside voltage spec when Anti Surge is triggered and that sounds like your problem.

    Voltage     Min      Nom       Max     Tolerance

Well seems like I solved my problem another way.. It's definitely PSU fault since this is the 2nd I get and as such I had the old PSU cables laying around, had tried every cable except the 24 Pin ATX Cable, tried it and guess what? It's working flawlessy, now the problem is that there was a revision in these cables because they had a too thin 5v cable ( or something like that ) and this cable I'm using now is prior to that revision, should I still use it?

Maybe the answer from a EVGA Tech would be really helpfull here.

    Thank you!

At this point I would recommend sending an e-mail to supporteu@evga.com, and our EU team can let you know how to proceed.
