Once again the need also depends on what resolution you have on your monitor and the refresh rate. If you want to game to 4K at 120 hertz or more then a high end RTX 3080ti or RTX 3090 would work. If your monitor is only pushing 1920 x 1080 then an RTX 3080 or RTX 3070ti should be fine.

AMD Ryzen 9 7950X,  Corsair Mp700 Pro M.2, 64GB Corsair Dominator Titanium DDR5  X670E Steel Legend, MSI RTX 4090 Associate Code: H5U80QBH6BH0AXF. I am NOT an employee of EVGA

    WRONG!!!!!
In my other posts a member asked which card he should get &  all my serious gamer friends that blew their 30 series cards due to OC too much borrowed my spares which were 1660 which are 8K & 240HZ CERTIFIED & far superior & cheaper than ANY 30 series cards & plays EVERY game out there in 2021. They proved this by putting in my spare 1660s into the same computers that used to have the 30 series cards (which are out for repair/replacement RMA's) & every game that played on their 30 series plays just fine with the 1660s though no ray tracing which they said is no big deal & useless. They all told me that they wasted their money on the 30 series cards when 1660 & up cards (2070s/2080s) work just fine. I have witnessed them playing at max resolution & 240HZ without issues so 30 series are indeed a massive waste of money if you can get 1660s or 20 series at MSRP prices or close to them. :o)

Got a 2160p 60 hz screen. So yeah when I posted this then a 3080 ti would have probably been the go.

New plan atm is to get a Displayport 2.0 monitor when they come out and then get an AMD gpu when they come out as they support it.

I think the biggest question other than the hardware is the games you play. Often people I feel focus on their own gaming needs instead of what games people are playing and the hardware requirements of that game. I know a lot of gamers now are playing the same online game for months if not years now.
