Will EVGA be having the 1080 as an option to step up to? I just bought my 980ti in March and feeling like I was just kicked in the nuts right now had I known about the 1080.

I have 8 more days available for Step Up :/

Yes but EVGA has made it clear that it may not be on launch day so even if you have an extra day or two you could be out of luck.

We will have the Founder's Edition available for purchase on May 27th. We do plan to add the GTX 1080 to Step-Up but at this point we do not know when the card will be added to Step-Up. Keep an eye on EVGA.com and here on the forums for any updates.

If you miss step-up you could sell your card.
You will lose more money but I'm sure you can get OK price for your card.
It's not disaster even if you miss. Maybe than you could wait 1080Ti but GTX1080 is really attractive...
She is attractive and for me who didn't pay attention on GTX980. But NVIDIA decide to offer more performance if people upgrade high end Maxwell-to mid Pascal. Kepler GK110 and Maxwell GM204 were almost same performance. Even overclocked Kepler was stronger.
Now Pascal completely beat Maxwell in any situation and difference is very big for cards from different class.

Thanks for the update, but it needs to be very soon after the release of the card, otherwise the advertised 'step up' program could be claimed to be inaccurate and incorrectly advertised due to the very first line of the description of the program saying this "The EVGA Step-Up program helps you have the peace of mind to purchase your favorite product now, knowing you can upgrade to the latest parts that come out within the first 90 days from your purchase."

If it is not available very soon after release, then many people will be unable to 'step up' which does not give them peace of mind, and prevents them from upgrading to the latest parts that come out within 90 days of their purchases.
