ARGH! So.... I just received my 970 FTW... it's a KICKASS CARD OMFG!! So due for a GPU upgrade, my 580 now serves as my secondary rig's GPU!

I got it installed, first using DDU to clean out my previous drivers etc etc. Then installed latest driver from geforce.com and all is well. Maxes out all of my games with EASE!!

Here's the problem though. I'm pretty sure my iGPU on my 3770K is disabled, even made sure in the BIOS (it should do it automatically anyways with a dedicated GPU in). My system information is showing 16GB of RAM with only 15.7 usable. When I go into device manager I see a "Standard VGA Graphics Adapter" next to my GTX 970. I've tried uninstalling it and it'll just pop right back up next restart. I couldn't upgrade the drivers as well... and the device actually doesn't even work (device couldn't start code 10).

What could possibly be wrong?! Don't really notice anything acting up or out of the ordinary... Google failed to answer my pleas so I'm asking you EVGA experts!

Don't really know the answer here, but a shot in the dark.  If you enable your iGPU in the BIOS, does that then make your "standard VGA adapter" active again in the device mgr?

I'm just wondering that if since you have an iGPU, even though disabled, does it still show in your device mgr.

You can disable the standard VGA adapter in the Device Manager if you wish.

I think I had to enable it in BIOS then install the drivers. Reboot and then disable iVGA in BIOS. After that it shouldn't appear in your Device Mgr any more.

On my system (8.1) the iGPU does not show up in device manager when disabled.

I just moved my GTX 680s to a Z-87 motherboard and disabled the iGPU.  But I am seeing strange video during boot and have to reboot to allow the system to display the bios pages correctly.

Of course, I do have the DVI connector on the Video card and not the Motherboard DVI connector.
