Are there any links to articles or news pieces that explain actual facts for this supposed chip/silicon shortage? Was it caused by supply chain issues? Covid? Geopolitics/strife with China? This is pretty silly for something like this to happen in [current year].

Well, it is really complex. Long story short. Another important thing is that world uses servers like never before. All the videoconference calls (i.e. Zoom calls...), all the video streaming services (Netflix, HBO etc.) and cloud storage. For IT companies it is much more profitable to use their valuable resources for data centers rather than gamers. Not to mention that nVidia was not expecting such a demand thus they do not have the capacity to make more chips, because they usually plan their production months ahead (and if you belive official nVidia statement, they say there is a problem of high demand, not a short supply see here https://seekingalpha.com/article/4398578-nvidia-corporation-nvda-presents-19th-annual-j-p-morgan-tech-auto-forum-conference-transcript ). They would love to make more, but they simply cannot. Seems like a sizable chunk of 3080 ftw3 ultra's have arrived in Europe. One NL retail shop cleared a 33 person waiting list. All relative of course.

Hey! I how long have you all been waitin for 3060 xc blacks in eu? I believe 19 average?

From the queue info tab of the spreadsheets it says the average wait is 24 days for the 3060 XC in EU. There is no queue for the 3060 XC Black card in EU.

Great question! That average is only for people that have received an email so far. So as more people receive an email and have waited longer it will get closer to the the Average Days on the Queue.

They just dropped some cards in the first week (and a couple in the second week) after notifications opened. Nothing ever since. So the 14 days after the last notify mail are not counted towards the average. It's how the sheet works. If there is no new date listed there is no new data to calculate an average. The other data is more telling I think: the list has only advanced to about 47 seconds after opening with many, many people in the first and second minute left without any mail. After four weeks you van safely say the average days is a completely fabricated statistic and useless unless there's at least some volume of shipments.
