Single 8 pin power vs 8+8 pin power

so on the regular FE gtx 1080 it only has a single 8 pin power connector, but on the FTW gtx 1080 they have an 8+8 pin power config.  Will this config pull more power even if it is not needed and if so how much?

    The more pins, the more stable power draws. Makes for better overclocks. Pins can only handle so much power before they fail or catch fire.

    It won't pull any more power than needed. They never do...well, unless they short out or something else spectacular.

    Maybe for the KinpPin. For all other EVGA models, it is pretty much just a selling point. These cards are locked down.

    It could definitely pull more power as the vbioses between the two cards are setup completely different.
