I bought my 3090 ftw3 in Nov 2020.  I can't believe it's been over year with this setup.   It kind of feels like it's brand new since there are those still waiting on a 30 series card.   I'm still waiting for a PS5 at msrp... but not paying scalper prices.  All my previous builds where custom watercooled for over a decade.    Decided to just use AIO coolers for this one.   Mainly using it for my Photography editing and content creation... so I'm not into the benchmark scene like used to.   I game and stream once in a while... but mostly editing and shopping on Amazon... LOL.   Not as cool as the custom loop rigs in this thread... but here is my over 1 year old rig and office setup:

That's your office? Do work for NASA or something??

That's one amazing looking setup.

Here is a recently completed O11 Dynamic centered around a Dark Hero Mobo, 5950X, 32GB Royal RAM, 500GB primary OS drive, 1tb gaming drive, Optimus CPU Block, Optimus GPU Block, EVGA 3080 FTW3 Ultra, and custom loop.

Only issue I really wish I could have resolved better was the bottom fans.  I had to remove two of them to fit the vertical mount that way I wanted.  Horizontal mounting was out of the question due to the dimension of the GPU and the block.  You can't see it but there is only one SL120 fan under the pump/res combo now.

This is my son's build.  Just finished putting through air pressure and water leak testing last night.

I'm personally anti-rgb. I'd post my rig but I don't have one built with the EVGA card, just FE. Not sure people want to see the FE cards..

Here is my recent 3080ti upgrade project and contribution to the list:
    5900x
    Asus Crosshair VIII Dark Hero
    2x16GB GSkill TridentZ 3200, 14-14-14-34@1.35v
Samsung 970 Pro 512GB, OS drive
    EVGA 3080ti Hydro Copper (12G-P5-3969-KR)
    EVGA 1200w PSU
    NORCO SS-500 drive cage
    Xigmatek Elysium case
300Lb casters for mobility/carpet clearance. The original wheels were crushed by the weight.
    EK-Quantum Reflection Uni 140 D5 pump/res combo
Optimus Foundation Waterblock (clear top, matte black, nickel finish)
Alphacool NexXxos XT45 Full Copper 420mm Radiator V.2
3x Noctua NF-A14 iPPC-3000 PWM Heavy Duty Cooling Fans
    Koolance Quick-disconnects
    Alphacool compression fittings
    EK 10/16 clear soft tubing
    EK-CryoFuel, Clear, ~650ml

This was my first custom loop build, and wanted to keep it relatively simple, if possible. I didn't know what to expect with the  Koolance disconnects, but honestly, they are working great, and so far have exceeded my expectations.

Rainbow mode was first boot default, but I usually run it dark.

Firmware update mode is cool as heck! I wish I could see this more often!

I had to bring down the connections from the radiator using 10mm extensions, and 45° angle fittings. They barely clear the EK reservoir. The bend on that return tube is tighter than I'd like, but so far hasn't been an issue.

When the PC isn't doing anything, I run the pump at 40% and the fans at 20%, which makes them silent. The fans are connected to an adapter, so that RPM's of 1 fan controls all 3, and power is drawn directly from the PSU and not the mobo headers.

Early on, I had some post issues, had a mini freakout, and decided to temporarily roll backwards. As a result, what you see here is the entirety of the loop removed from the system, in 4 self-contained parts. The quick disconnects allowed for the removal of the components while they were full loaded with coolant, and not a drop was spilled. I hope to do the same when it comes time to drain the loop for maintenance.

I love my Koolance QDC. I've had them for 3 years or so. They've made swapping my cpu and gpus a breeze.

Re: ***Show us your 3000 Series GPU*** 2022/03/31 21:55:58 (permalink)
I posted in this thread earlier, but I have some new update now to wrap up this build..

Was originally hoping to finish this build with a 3090ti, but unfortunately that card isn't compatible with Optimus's 3080/3080ti/3090 waterblock, so I had to stick with a 3090 instead.
I had an order with ModMyMods for over five months to get the Aquacomputer flow meter, but for some reason Aquacomputer wasn't fulfilling their order with MMM, so instead I had to cancel with MMM and buy it from Aquacomputer directly but for about 1.5x the cost :(

This build has x2 360mm rads (push+pull) and x1 120mm rad (push) with a flow rate typically between 200-215 L/h.
The GPU core temp minus coolant temp is usually at most 10C while overclocking.
Not sure why some of the blue coolant appears to be so dark in this picture, something's up with my camera, but it's definitely moreso light blue in person.

So much bling..

Heh as for me I'm using a ratty old beat up mid tower case thats been in use since shortly after the atx standard became normal so no pics from me.

It's a snakes nest of cables and crap anyways. No panels on it either because its too narrow to close over the cpu fan or even gpu because it blocks the exhaust.

Also a question to those with a 3080 ftw3 ultra. How do you keep it from cooking off your ram and cpu because the backplate exhaust ports blow directly over them?

I thought the gpu was bad because I kept crashing out of red dead redemption 2 even though the gpu temps were fine then noticed that the ram and cpu were overheating badly due to the hot exhaust.

My solution was inelegant but its working fine. I form fit cut some cardboard box and taped it between the gpu backplate and ram/cpu leaving an air gap between the gpu and cardboard.

The exhaust can still escape and the gpu still runs at good temps but the ram/cpu are back to normal temps too. Bad cooling design imo even if it works great for the gpu.

I subbed out the hydrocopper block on my 3090 and put on a heatkiller V with passive backplate. Sad to say my temps are much better, 13C Delta (20C with the hydrocopper) and 10C lower overall.

Just assembled Apr 29, 2022.  Will tidy cables a bit more, when exhaust fan arrives. First build in 8 years, since my X99 Classified/1080Ti FTW3. Still learning this new board, and no OC'ing done yet.

Nothing special compared to systems shown here.

Case: Corsair Obsidian 1000D

That case alone is unique and not very common.  That is one of my bucket case builds in the future.  Love that case and the space it allows the user to build in.  So much can be done in that case.  I just hate the price tag to be honest.

I'm thinking when the 4000 series comes out this would be the case to build a custom loop with.

Nice build overall.

Thanks.
I bought the case with a good discount at Microcenter in person as an open box for $330. Oh yeah there's plenty of space to build. For now, I just don't want to do the whole liquid system, too much hassle.
