Update!
My Liquid Freezer II arrived yesterday and I put it in. Temps are actually far better which I didn't expect...probably because my H115i was dying for a while.

That AIO is pretty good performance wise.  It maybe missing on some of the looks with the lack of RGB, but it really does a great job at cooling the cpu and surrounding components.  I actually really like that one also because of how the tubes come off the pump.  It's much easier to route and not have to worry about clearance issues between the ram and the AIO block.  Your pc looks be a strong performer and a very clean install to add as well.  Compact and stealthy, but a very strong performer.  The ultimate sleeper pc to the untrained eye. Great job putting together that pc.

Your temps look great for that 5950.  I'm hoping for similar temps if not a little better when I get mines installed because of my open loop system.  I just got lucky and scored a 5950 at msrp recently which I will be installing in the next couple of weeks when I have time.  I'm one of those fools who started out with the 5600, wanted more but settled for the 5800, and then got "lucky" and got a 5950. I should go out and just buy a 5900 just so I can say I was stupid enough to own the entire 5000 series from AMD.

Thanks! Also yeah I owned a 5800x for a week before I got my 5950x...also thought that would be good enough lol...good luck with the loop, how many radiators and what size you going for? I considered going open loop but am saving that for my next build due to the amount of effort involved.

Re: ***Show us your 3000 Series GPU*** 2021/07/07 12:38:35 (permalink)
I went with three 360mm rads in my build (my build specs on in my signature).  Where I live it's pretty warm year round so I wanted maximum cooling from the rads.  It complicated the build a little, but I am happy overall with it.  I went with the tried and true EK rads for my build in the Lian Li O11XL.  I should have posted new pictures of my build once I got everything put in, but I got too excited when i was rebuilding it and couldn't wait to turn it on and get it set up.  The planning and not knowing exactly what I was going to need was the biggest challenge.  Spare connectors and extensions along with some bad decisions on my part increased my costs.  It wasn't too bad, but it did hurt a little knowing that I should have planned a little better.

The GPU water block was the most expensive single item from my open loop, but it was also the one piece where I have no doubt I would do again.  At 400 bucks, it was expensive but it is possibly the best water block on the market for good reasons.  The materials used are very good, the construction is also very good, and the performance has been great.  Some have had issues with Optimus and their communications but it was good for me.  But their CPU block is damn crazy for the price, a really good bang for the buck choice.

But I do really like the stealth look of your PC.  Great parts that match very well with each other.  Your system should scream performance.  I'm getting old, which is kinda funny that I went with a system for both looks and performance.  I figured if I can't game as well as I used to, I might as well look good doing it right.

I get that lol, and yeah a few years back I just decided RGB wasn't for me...I'm almost 37 which is 100 in Internet years so maybe that's why I don't go for flashy stuff anymore lol. When I do the open loop for my next build I'll post the pictures here but I still wanna do no RGB for that...maybe an industrial look of some sort if that's something I can find at that point. We will see I guess!

Installed my Hybrid kit the other day!! Did a few modifications: Painted it grey, sleeved the tubing, made a custom decal, added RGB, and swapped in a 92mm Noctua Chromax fan. Temps are really good, it never really goes beyond 60c at full load. :) Dealing with the putty was the only difficult part of the installation. Haven't benchmarked it yet, but I'll get to that over the next few days. The card overclocked really well before the Hybrid, so I'm hoping for some good results!

Nice case and theme!
Looks like the only thing we're missing is a white EVGA card!
Wish EVGA would make white versions of these cards..

How are the temps?  I was thinking of getting a hybrid kit but idk how the temps would be with the hybrid fans basically just exhausting the air coming in from the front of the case right away.  Then again it may not be needed because both are cooled with aio at that point.

When I measured the before/after max temps, I used HWmonitor while playing RDR2 for about an hour or so (with no manual OC except for the flip-switch on the card which forces the fan speed).

Before the hybrid kit, my 3080ti would max out at 83C GPU, 86C MEM, and 87 Hot Spot.
After the hybrid kit, it would max out at 62C GPU, 90C MEM, 70C Hot Spot.

I don't have really good "before" measurements for the CPU and motherboard, as I was also redoing those just before I installed the hybrid kit.
But the CPU tops off out at 63C now, and is generally within the 50-60C range when gaming, idle is at 30-40C.
The motherboard sensors also seem to be within the 30-50C range, but the CPU, PCIe, and VRM MOS sensors go to the upper 50s or lower 60s.

I'm not sure if I would recommend the hybrid kit at this time due to the higher memory temps, which seems to be an issue with the thermal pads on the hybrid kits, as I didn't really make any "installation errors" while installing the kit (I tried to be very careful).
There's apparently a workaround for the high memory temp issue, so I'm going to give that a try and see if it could be improved that way.
This workaround is mentioned in the following EVGA forum (I don't believe I can post links here):
PRO-TIP Converting your card to a Hybrid? Reuse the thermal pads on backplate lower temps

Thanks!
Yeah, although I don't use the touch function. I just use it to monitor the usual: CPU/GPU %, temps, Ram/Vram, FPS. Core clock/Memory Clock. I just took a dremel to my side panel after some careful measuring, got some trim to line it, and used some heavy duty 3M tape to hold it in place. I chose that screen specifically because it gets all power just from the HDMI connection, which makes it a little easier.

Haven't benchmarked it yet, but I'll get to that over the next few days. The card overclocked really well before the Hybrid, so I'm hoping for some good results!

How did you add RGB to your hybrid? That's what mine is missing!

So, the opening for the fan is 105mm and the fan is 100mm, give or take slightly. To make room, I swapped in a 92mm Slim Noctua Chromax fan. I disassembled it, and 3D printed this bracket to attach it to like the stock fan would. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4506608 I personally ran my fan cable out of the slot where the Hybrid Kit's fan headers would normally go, and tucked those into the shroud since I wouldn't be using them. You can opt to use this little extension cable and plug it into the GPU and do it that way, however. https://www.ekwb.com/shop/ek-cable-pwm-fan-adapter-for-gpu-50cm That way the GPU can control the fan, if you prefer. I grabbed a Lian-Li RGB strip they make for the Lancool II, as it's extremely low profile and has adhesive on one side. https://www.amazon.com/Li...=1626163307&sr=8-1 I just measured around the opening, and cut the strip to size and stuck it on there, then ran the ARGB cable up top and out the back where the tubes and cables go. I printed a little decal to cover where the seam is where the strip begins/ends, but it's not 100% necessary. That's about it! Let me know if you need a hand or have questions!

Well done world.  I like the custom screen.  Is that a system monitoring touch screen?

That's some pretty awesome mods and thanks for the explanation and links.  Very cool that you added those LEDs on the GPU fan.

Took a while but here we go found a cool summer themed profile too.

Which Corsair case is that, the 4000D or 5000D Airflow?  Are the side fans set as intake (which is what it looks like)?  I'm thinking of retiring my Corsair 900D and moving to the 5000D Airflow and that is the fan configuration I was thinking about myself.
