Harord You definitely bottlenecking with 3600
you can see here
This is a really good answer. Thanks for that link, didn't know it existed. Like most said, 1080p is acceptable, but for 2k+ you will get a CPU bottleneck.

I agree. 6 cores are more than enough, if it's just gaming. Besides, the 3600 is still an outstanding CPU, despite the 5000 series being out for quite a while now. I wouldn't worry about a CPU upgrade

kram36 Well I hope you have money growing on a tree with all these recommendations.
I totally agree, really no need to change anything if it doesn't bottleneck and this is very easy to check.

You are probably fine, but that is kinda borderline tbh. Maybe go Ryzen 5.

I went from 3950x to 5950x and gained about 40FPS in the flight Sims I play. For gaming it's quite a jump in performance. Multthreading performance went up only about 10 percent, but the gaming performance jump was massive. I did that in December last year. If I had that dilemma right now I think I'd wait for a DDR5 platform before upgrading.

Might be worth it waiting for when the next gen releases, if you're not up for waiting then the 5800 should serve you just fine

I'd say yes. In CPU intensive games the 3600 is struggling. Its' a good CPU, but a budget CPU. If you were on a budget, I'd say don't, but I presume that's not an issue given your 3080 Ti purchase. 25% performance uplift is real.

I would suggest that you see for yourself: get MSI afterburner and turn on the overlay during the most stressing games you have and see what has the highest utilization: CPU or GPU. If it's GPU, that's normal and you are not CPU-bottlenecked. If your CPU is maximally utilized, you may want to upgrade. Hint: games are benefitting from multicore but are still single-core-performance sensitive, I'd advise getting a 5600 or ideally a 5800x rather than something like a 3800xt or 3950.

What res are you playing on? For 1080p: Definatly upgrade, for 1440p: You should be fine rn, maybe upgrade later to a 6th gen Ryzen, for 4k: Definatly GPU bound, although a new CPU most likely will give you some extra Fps
