^ yea that and I dont feel like waiting 4-6 months for paper work to go through while paying a $200 tax stamp to reduce a inch off of my 16inch barrel. I also dont feel like paying $800-$1000 for a suppressor along with another $200 for the tax stamp and paper work wait. BUT the only time and I would SBR something is if I owned one of these rifles. Its so retarded how you have to shoot that on your cheek and not on your shoulder if you have the arm brace. So I would buy CZ's arm brace and do the paper work and that would be my only NFA item.
 
By the way did you guys see this bill about suppressors? I feel like it wont pass with the president to sign due to his stance on firearms. Maybe it could pass through the house and senate.

Not going to happen lol. That is a neat bill, but I give it a 1% chance of passing.
 
I don't have any guns (yet)  but it seems like an SBR would be of relatively limited use for civilians. Personally, I plan on getting a Kimber 1911, Walther PPK, and a Bushmaster ACR 6.8mm eventually.

I recently bought my first machine gun from a friend, an MP40, just waiting on the transfer. He has a Vietnam era M16 that I may purchase as well.

It runs perfect.

Nice! I'm building an SBR with a 10.3" barrel right now... Next I'll be building a true Mk18 SOPMOD clone with all the cool stuff from colt!

Haz if you get the sig brace it transfers as a pistol.

It is my favorite gun. It is a great shooter and so simple in function. I did put some new trigger springs in and lightened the pull by half.

If you get a chance to get one, you won't regret it.

Concur...I've no problem with someone buying a fully automatic Barrett 50 BMG...if they can afford it.

Let me clarify somethings before you guys jump all over me.

I'm pro second amendment. Would I be planning to buy an ACR if I was not? I just meant that I think the SMG/SBR form factor does have limited use for civilians because if you're going for home defense with them a pistol is (IMO) a better option. Likewise technically speaking, a full size rifle is better for targets shooting. Now, just because I think it that as a form factor it has limited utility does not mean that I am against people being able to own them, and that is not what I said anyways. And I am aware they aren't cheap, the ACR will be well over $2k to buy.

Additionally, no I do not want more red tape. I want the border shut down so we know who and what is coming into the country, and I want a crackdown on the illegal weapons and gangs. Note the word ILLEGAL. Like my favorite candidaTe, it's only the illegals that I am against. Legal firearms I am all for, if you want a full auto M4 with a suppressoR and can prove you do not have a history of violent crime yoU should be able to go buy it. If I could I would buy a full auto ACR. But My Personal opinion is one of someone who has not yet owned a gun either, so when it comes to the "seems like it would have limited use" comment, keep that in mind.

Edit: let me also add that I didn't take it personally or anything, I just wanted to clear up the misunderstanding. Especially because I know it is a touchy subject for a lot of people. (As it should be)

Or just guns?

Some of us like guns, and computers, so on a computer forum that we visit we like to talk about them in the off topic area.

I'm not sure what's so hard to get about that.

I didn't say I don't like guns. I am a hunter and have more than my share. Sorry I really am not tying to stir things up. Just asking a question. Don't get your panties in a bunch. It just seems like there is a lot more gun discussion on here than other tech forums.

I know overclock.net has a huge thread about firearms... This forum is a tad smaller than others and we have had oretty much the same active members for the last 2 years...
