Is this a new build? Or, did you have another video card before? Did you disable your onboard graphics chip in bios before you installed the new card?
Are you sure that your installing the right drivers for your rig? I'm not trying to insult you here. Sometimes it is pretty easy to download and/or install the wrong driver set for your card.
Please post more info about your system (i.e. power supply)
