I just purchased an x99 micro 2, I've been out of the game a while. There are like 10 internal sata ports, is there a difference in speed on any of them? I'm running a 750gb crucial mx300 and everything is running great so far, but certainly want to make sure I'm not hindering myself at all.

Thank you!

no difference in speed between the ports, only functionality differences like RIAD

Be aware that using the M.2 slot will disable PCIe slot 3 (PE3).

I thought it dropped the speed of pci slot 3, not entirely disabling it. I have a WiFi card in pci3 hmm.... Being that my 1070 puts the fans so close to anything in slot 2, I have my WiFi card in 3.... That's disappointing.

Once you see how fast the M.2 is I don't think you'll be that disappointed.

You might be able to stick a PCIe riser in PE2 and go from there.

Use this Associate Code at your checkouts or follow these instructions for Up to 10% OFF on all your EVGA purchases:

M.2 is fast.  I get 550+ MB/sec read/write with the  850 Pro. There's currently only few scenarios that the additional speed of an M.2 would be noticeable.
