https://www.fjoddes.net/index.php/samsung-starts-offering-first-a-die-based-ram/ Samsung's B die has been widely known as a good, high performance variant of DRAM memory, loved by overclockers because of its ability to get to a high frequency with relatively low timings. However, B die has been discontinued and now Samsung started offering its replacement in form of the newly developed A die manufactured in 1z nm (1z class) lithography process. Despite the lack of technical details surrounding the new die type, Hardwareluxx has received a tip from its reader about new RAM offering that incorporates A die memory. The M378A4G43AB2-CVF, as it is called in the listing, is a 32 GB, single dimm DDR4 RAM with operating speed of 2933 MHz and CL21-21-21 timings. This particular offer isn't something to be excited about as the frequency is good, but the timings are quite high for that speed. Given that we don't know where the A die is targeted at, we can speculate that its current aim is at mid-tier systems, where the mediocre performance is okay and the system isn't suffering (performance wise) because of it. Nonetheless this find is quite interesting as it gives first hints at what can we expect in therms of future A die DRAM offerings. Remember, it took some time for B die as well to get to the level of performance we have today, so it is entirely possible that A die will improve and try to aim for greater performance level than it currently has. Looks to me like Samsung is starting this new A-die ram at the mid-tier user and will work their way upwards.

If doesn’t sound that bad but price is the main factor.

RAM pricing is dependent upon supply and demand just like anything else. Personally I am hoping that supply will exceed demand so that prices can come down.

Threadripper users need to spend big bucks to fill a bunch of memory slots. Now that 32GB sticks are available a tray of them will cost a pretty penny. My cheap MSI X470 cannot recognize 32 DB UDIMMS so I am wondering if an updated ROM might add that capacity. I have also noted that 64 GB sticks for servers will likely find their way into consumer UDIMMS before long. AMD has 4 slots of lots of 4 sticks are not so brutal. The X399 is too brutal to contemplate memory upgrades over the capacity increases.

That probably wont work Veg cause its more of a limitation of the onboard mem controller, not a rom issue. Not that you couldn't try it, but you would probably have to overvolt it and that means stressing the rest of the controllers onboard the cpu which will likely help it fail rather than work. The best thing you can do is research the mem controller they use on that chip and see what its capabilities are and what others have done with it, if any other manu has used it, and is its max specs a hard wall or a suggested wall. As always, your EVGA brothers and I wish you the best of luck should you choose to accept this mission.

how is it that an Asus B350 has 128GB on it? Seems that there is something gimmicking the actual capacity. https://hardcoregames.video.blog/2019/08/21/128gb-on-b350/ screenshot speaks for itself so I posted this on the MSI forum to gripe scream rant and rave, I also screamed over my R5 2400G not working on my X570 motherboard, whitelist BS on socket AM4 AMD said it would work, MSI said up yours
