Unless the GB2$ is abit better vs the 840 EVO's, No Thanks.

    The 250GB 840 EVO's are $130 and the 500GB's are $230 ATM!

Samsung's use of v-nand probably drove up the price.

Not too shabby but at the same time.. still makes me want to buy an 840 EVO instead. Not really worth the extra $$$

I thought the major selling point of the 840 Evo over the 840 pro was the transfer speed was higher on the evo. This is the opposite, and with the price of the 850 pro not being all that high, it seems like the logical buy to me.

850 pro currently priced at 256gb = 179 and 512 = 339 for a faster and longer lasting product.... The pro prices are going to have to spike for the evo to make any sense.

There is also the possibility of the 850 evo costing the same as the 840 evo and the 840 to go further down in price.

Just got an 850 Pro 128 GB model for my sons OS drive.

First impression? no mounting screws in the box! you would think the "pro" version would add those instead of the worthless software disk / downloadable and the paper case stickers,  geeeez

It was worth every penny! Newegg.com had the 850 PRO's on sale for black Friday for $179.99 ea with a free game.

And I will say transferring files between the two 850 Pro's and the 840 EVO is ridiculously fast at over 500MB/s

The only two that I use are ATTO and AS-SSD:

    Awesome, thanks for the links!

    Cool link.

I like my 840 a lot. What I like most about it is the Magician software. The "Boost Mode" option is nuts.  The software gets me from 500meg/s to 1gig/s read and wright.
The drives Magician software can also copy your current drive over to the new drive, this free software is something that makes this drove stand out above the rest to me.

I would try the Boost Mode if I had more RAM but my single 840 EVO does really good on its own. All of my drives are SSD except for a 1 TB HDD that I use for a master System Image I create every month after updates from MS.
