Sounds good, please keep updated.

One of the first things I did yesterday was install the latest BIOS version 16.  currently I have 9-9-9-24 @1600 with auto voltage. it shows the voltage is at 1.405v   even though the crucial sticker says 1.35v very strange.  I'll see if it succeeds at installing windows 7 x64, if not i will try 10-10-10-28

I had to settle at 10-10-10-28 @ 1600.   Installed latest EVGA drivers and running Prime95 x64 on windows 7 x64.

Just for kicks, when running prime 95 during testing it utilized 477watts with all cores/threads.  At idle it sits at 155 watts.  Not too bad I guess.

Lets see how it goes for the next 48hrs.

Looking good, give memtest a shot for at least 2-3 passes. This test may take some time with 96gbs

Memtest x86 version 4.20  doesn't seem to be going well with my 96GB of Crucial RAM.  it keeps giving me error at 62000 something about bit errors?  any ideas?

Just to clarify is it generating 62,000 errors? If possible can you post a screen shot or send it to my email address?

Sorry I will try and clarify.  I wrote the following down from Memtestx86 4.00

TST: 6
Pass: 0
Failing Address: 00FCEC3174  62926.7MB
ERROR BITS: 00000500
COUNT: 1
WALLTIME: 5HRS

I did this test twice and both times it failed.  I ran Prime95 for 72 hours and it was rock solid.  I called Crucial tech support and they say that if Prime95 ran and it didn't crash the above error means nothing(argh)?  Crucial tech further told me instead of running it at 1.35Volts , why not run it at 1.5V.  I thought good idea, so I went into bios and I set 4 Memory dimm cpu settings to 1500, SAVE...and..NO POST!   I press evga red button to reset to factory now I have post, and it works with Auto voltage with ram settings at 10-10-10-28.

I'm now testing 32GB of RAM at a time with two processors using memtestX86 w/ v4.00  @ 10-10-10-28

lets see how this goes.

Let us know the results when testing 32gb, when running Prime 95 did you by chance run the blend?
Also try setting the voltage manually with this 32gb setup.

Hi,
I ran prime95 with Blend and CPU (I think option 1 and 3 radio buttons).  I ran each one of those tests for 50 hrs a piece, they passed with no issues.  but with this memtest 86X it keeps bombing.

Decided to RMA old set of RAM and overnight new ones.  Will continue with test after new batch come in.

Side note, Crucial support is saying  RAM failure(RED) in memtestx86 is acceptable as long as its not too many? huh? They further claim that if it passed with Prime95, Memtest won't matter much at all.

Now I'm seriously stumped to wonder what the point of memtest is -  if all one needs to do is run Prime95 for 48hrs straight, we'd all be set.

Well we suggest having passing results through memtest. From what we have seen failing test are usually contributed to faulty memory, incorrect timings, bad CPU (memory controller), or even a faulty dimm slot on the motherboard. I don't think it's going to be a faulty dimm slot, since you are getting correct values in Windows, memtest and prime 95. Let me know the results of the continues testing.
