Hi Guys,

I recently installed my 1070 SC on my ASUS Maximus hero VIII mobo.

I plan to buy another card in 2 weeks to SLI.

Problem is, I've always used a flexible elongated SLI bridge in the past with 2x 780's... I have no idea if my cards are single or double-slot spacing for 60cm, 80cm, 120cm on this mobo... [I live alone and don't own a ruler. Lol]

I've attached a picture; perhaps some of you guys will immediately know which fits.

I circled in orange the 2 SLI slots, the last 1-blk isn't used.

[The image is from the Maximums viii hero alpha, but it's physically identical to my Maximus viii hero, in terms of the PCIE slot spacing.]

Thanks for the reply... But confused... What's the 2-way SLI - M? Is that 60, 80 or 120 slot spacing?

Yeah you want the evga 1 slot bridge or the Nvidia 3 slot bridge.

I have the same board but the alpha version (same spacing) and just installed the evga 1 slot hb sli bridge a few days ago. Perfect fit. Just make sure to loosen your slot screws on the cards first before installing the bridge then tighten the slot bolts.

You have 3 slots between the cards (even though slot (2) doesn't have a connector)...slot-to-slot is 20 mm...60 mm.

If you look at the specs/dimensions for the particular bridge, order one that has 60 mm between the SLI connections.

Thanks for the breakdown. Now I'm just waiting for EVGA to have their PRO connectors back in-stock =( Lol.

That auto-notify button... Makes me wanna cry.

60mm.

I just got my 60mm EVGA Pro bridge today, woot. [Newegg must have bought all of your stock, lol.]

Curious, will you guys ever simply design a SLI bridge that simply stretches from smallest-to-largest in the future? Is there a design-flaw reason that no one has patented a retractable bridge?! [The flimsy ones with the ribbon cable are sorta the same idea already.

I'd imagine, it would be the best selling product since *every* SLI user would have a need for it to future-proof themselves, as well as the extra LED EVGA WoW factor to boot...

Or is that the issue? If a user gets a working one, no incentive to ever buy another?

It's a high bandwidth digital connection...so anything that "slides" would make it difficult to keep good contact.

Really?! So an internal flex-ribbon at it's max length that can fold would add too-much noise or resistance to the circuitry? [I'm not sure whats covered in the plastic now, but I'm going to assume its a tiny pcb with some simple circuitry.]

Not an electrician, but I imagine someone simply encasing a max-lenth [120mm] flex-ribbon, where the contacts themselves can simply expand or contract to 30, 60, 80 or 120mm. This would mean that even if you contract the adaptor, its always traveling the full-lenth 120mm of the ribbon.

Of course, whatever circuitry is involved, the 2 conjoined ribbons would need to reach a certain yield to qualify as *high-bandwidth* [whatever the magical number is currently.]
