Well done on the machining of those parts! The machining on the blocks especially look nice. What Kind of CNC are you using? Brand? At my job (toolmaker apprentice) I use all manual lathe and milling machines, That is how I made some stuff for my PC build, though my job will let me use the CNC when it is free. Its a Tormach, but hey, it works lol. Skeeper are you a machinist as well?

THX driam. Professionally I deal with the regeneration and modification of injection molds and I work mainly on EDM and WEDM machine tools, surface grinders. CNC and manual machining is my hobby. The machines that I have at home are the domestic Certus Technology and Optimum.

I had worked with plastic injection machines for a short time, and those molds are no joke, no room for error and some were massive! You get one scratch on the surface... and the next X amount of parts are going to show it. I have a frankenstein milling machine (still need to add a 220 plug to get it going) and an old Southbend lathe. Got them both for cheap, the owner was going to scrap them. The milling machine has a grinding wheel instead of a quill feed handle, and there are no longer dial indicators for the x or y axis... lol, still worth ever dollar. So epic to know another machinist is on the forums.

Yes, injection molds are a complex product that requires high precision. In addition to the CNC, I have a more modern large Frankenstein and a smaller version. The lathe is also in the studio.

Fantastic finish. I must admit, I am stumped how you got the end of those channels to be square and straight... it looks like spirals at the bottom of the channels, did you use an endmill?!? Normally an endmill would leave a circular shape at the end of a cut. This is just epic, thanks for sharing. EDIT: I did some digging online... did you use a broach to get those straight ends? I never used one on a milling machine before, but watched a video of some one making straight cuts using a broach going up and down. First operation mill out runs, second operation broach each end? SKEEPER.

SKEEPER. Instead of clamps, there will be a rail for ATX and GPU cables

Now that's pretty unique, never thought of doing that before.

rjohnson11 I love watching the fantastic detail and work ethic.
I love watching build/ fab videos too, but even then it's easy to miss how much time and care goes into the process. Much respect for the eye for art AND the quality/ attention to detail.
