Hello all,
I all of a sudden having video card crashing when Playing any games. My system Is new only a month old. Windows 10 Pro Event Viewer is telling me its Nvlddmkm event 13 crashing my video card. I tried everything on the internet except for a few things I will have to research more on. I will listed below what I have and have not done. Just know one thing Its a New system and I haven't as yet overclocked anything, and that the Graphic card only crashes in Games not at desktop at all.

System:
Cpu i7-8700k
MB Evga z390 Ftw
Gpu Evga Rtx 2070
Corsair Memory CMD16GX4M2B3200C16
PSU Evga SuperNova 1300G2
Os Windows 10 Pro

What I have Done:
1) read everything I could about Nvlddmkm event 13, seems I'm not alone with this problem popping up. But haven't found any solution on the net to fix my problem.
2) removed some imbedded software that came with Windows 10, Xbox live ect… that was suggested by internet post I read.
3) Updated My video drivers to 419.67, first driver was 419.35 had same problem GPU crashing in games, So updated.
4) checked windows update , All up to dated.
5) ran Memory Check from Command Prompt, Check Disk, all passed.
6) ran memory Check from Bios, Passed.
7) Stressed test GPU with FurMark software for over a Hour, card had no issues at all.
8) made sure the PCie is set to 3.0 in bois
9) turn Ansel off

What I haven't done:
1) haven't underclock the Gpu, to see if the gpu running out of control.
2) haven't replaced PSU. to see if PSU is bad and not giving enough power when needed.
3) haven't gave the PCie addition power , only running one card. Was told I didn't need to with One Gpu.
4) haven't rolled back graphic driver because it was doing it with 419.35 and that was the only driver every installed when first putting system together.
5) Haven't changed TDR timing, Heard/read didn't help anyone who did.

So there you have the basic's of what I done and what I haven't done. Please if you got any info that might help me out with this problem, I would be greatful. I will reply with more info if need, but it might be slow forth coming as I'm working Longs days right now.

That driver drives me nuts. Messed up my games for weeks.

Not exactly sure what solved the issue as many drives, cleans, etc.. attempted. One thing I believed helped in the end was replacing the old video card back into the computer, uninstalling all video drives, clean registry etc... restart. Reinstall drivers. Turn off. Reinstall new card and apply any updates as necessary.

I wished I could replace the video card with a older one but this is a new build so no older video card to do that with. Gave My old system away to family member.

What do you mean by that? far as i know the card has 6+8 pin power, do you only use one of them?

The Video card/Gpu has all the 6+8 pin power connected to it, I'm talking about the MB has a additional Power connector for the PCie Lane's, for additional power when running cards in sli setup. Which I'm not with only one Gpu. But I went ahead and Connected it up today when I got off work just incase, Wont hurt a thing to have additional power connected. going to see if that might help out.

Well hooking up the Additional power to the PCie lane connector on the MB did nothing to help the problem. Still haven't figured out what to do to solve this problem. Starting to think that I should see about RMA the video card. :(

Woahhh... haven't seen this bad boy crop up for awhile! Did you build this PC or did you buy it? Did you manually set your bios up or is it auto everything? Are you using a separate line for the pci-e 6 pin into the card and a separate line for the pci-e 8 pin to the card, or a splitter on one line? Do you have a UPS system connected to your pc? This error is historically either power or graphics driver related, that's why I asked the questions I did.

    Well,
Yall want to hear the hardest dam thing to say, My RTX 2070 xc doesn't like water cooling at all. Even though the tempt never got above 67c stress testing it.  Never crashed unless playing a game. Called Tech support and they suggested swapping it back to air cooling (was going to have to do it to rma it back). Put it back in system and have played nonstop on it for 2 days, no crashing what so ever. What has me beat is I tried everything from reinstalling it, to using a different pcie slot. Tech support thinks that the waterblock for the Gpu was touching some were. Didn't see any contact that wasn't meant to be, when changing back to air cooling it. I guess I will just have to think on reinstalling  the waterblock later when I tear down the system for cleaning, and see if I can figure out what was effecting the Gpu . So now the only thing on my system that is water cooled is the Cpu.

Ps. Underclocking gpu did nothing to help the problem. Built the system from ground up, Manual set bios up for memory and boot, everything else was auto setting's. Both power cables to card were separate as well as the additional pcie connector on Mb. Problem wasn't power or graphic driver..
