Its not a 1080p card. Its not a 4k card either. Its a cross between 1080p/1440p. 1440p being better to get the full potential out of it. You should move to one ASAP. It will really make that card shine. I think 1080p is a complete waste for this card. Its not going to push it hard enough. Not even close. Or let it spread its wings. I myself was playing at 1920x1200 for 2 weeks when I got my new card. It was not going to cut the mustard for me. I knew the card could do so much more. 1440p is amazing with this card. If you planned to stay on 1080p though. The 1060 would have been best.

That really depends on the game. I play all games at 3840x2160. The 1080 struggles with some, but I'm rather impressed by the performance.

For example (Fallout 4): I was getting 17 FPS using a GTX 970 (overclocked) at 3840x2160. With the GTX 1080, I am getting 60 FPS (dipping to 52 in Far Harbour areas). That's with the same settings.

It's not a 'pure' 4K card, but it certainly allows many to play at that resolution by lowering a few settings from 'ultra' to 'high'.

GPU: EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 Hybrid 10GB w/ 240mm radiator
SSD/HDD: 1 * 1TB WD Blue M.2 PCIe 3.0 NVMe | 2 * 1TB WD Blue SATA | 2 * 8TB Toshiba N300 HDD SATA

Well, it was too good to be true. And if quacks like a duck..yeah yeah yeah. Played company of heroes tonight. System froze 10 minutes into the game. Rebooted, was getting crazy black artifacts everywhere. Shut down again, played for 45 minutes, system froze again. Now I look at the card in my case and there is this white LED shining out of the card like a flashlight...check it out.

This thing is going back at 10am tomorrow morning. I am going to pick up an asus strix card brand new in the box for 25$ less than I paid for this card. Just not worth the headache.

Thanks guys, EVGA and Microcenter are great. No bad reviews any either of them. People just suck sometimes.

Thanks for the help everyone.

Pretty sure that "flashlight" is actually 5 diagnostic leds, and should all be on all of the time. No way to turn them off unless something is amiss, which in your case, sounds like something is, if those leds were never on until now.

Well, if you simply RMA the card to EVGA, they send you a brand new card if it is within 30-days of purchase. If you can afford it and they offer it for that card, you can even do a cross shipment. If you are like me, you want a working card in hand now but if you want to stay with EVGA that would be the way to do it....
