I noticed my Motherboard has a Bios update that includes the Resizable bar feature along with being mentioned in the latest Nvidia drivers, has anyone tried it and is it worth it?

Resizable bar won't be working until Nvidia & AIB partners officially support it.
Nvidia expects to have the driver ready by the end of this month. But we also need a new vBIOS from AIB partners.

It'll be an average of 1 to 2% increase in FPS overall. Not a lot, but with a little work it's still better than a kick to the rear end.

But your motherboard BIOS needs an update, your Nvidia drivers need an update, and your video cards VBIOS needs an update. AFAIK, EVGA hasn't released any updated VBIOS's for their GPUs yet to take advantage of the resizable BAR - so we're waiting on that (as well as the Nvidia driver update?).

Excellent info there which takes us to the question "is it worth it". My answer IS "NO WAY for now". There is just too many things that could go wrong and cause instabilities or straight up bricking. I would be very cautious and personally I will not bother.

    Right...

3 things have to happen before it can be used.

    VBIOS update on the GPU.

    MB BIOS update or compatibility.

NVIDIA driver update to support it.

I guess since it’s not out you’re just asking for the herd to guess. Of course it depends on who you are for most things, what worth is. To someone who benches for a hobby, free 1% on your score...

That is because we need a vbios update from evga first. The driver supports it, but not the cards.

According to Nvidia, the software will enable or disable resizable BAR based on if it gives a performance increase in the game or not.  Nvidia also said that you will be able to also manually enable or disable resizable BAR for Nvidia cards.  I like that feature because on the AMD cards, you actually lose performance in some games when you enable resizable BAR.  SO the average increase on Nvidia cards should be higher because you don't lose performance in games where resizable BAR hinders performance.

I apologize for the lack of knowledge, but does anyone know if reBAR is affected at all by hardware accelerated gpu scheduling?
Would HAGS and reBAR work in tandem?
Should I disable HAGS if I have reBAR enabled?

    Thanks in advance

Should not be a problem. Besides, according to your rig specs, you don't have a 3060 so why are you bothering? Bios updates with BAR for other 3xxx series are coming at end of month...

My x299 board is updated and has reBAR enabled. Yes, just being prepared for the end of the month. I know it shouldn't be a problem. It would be nice to know if someone knew of their interaction together, whether it does anything or not

RMA is also "free" until you see how much UPS charges to send your card for replacement. Too many things can go wrong with updating bios and changing drivers etc. Many of us with 3080s are stable with older nvidia drivers because the newer ones are suspects for serious card problems.

The 1-2% performance aka literally 1-2 frames for 165hz which is around the best average fps you can get at ultra 1440p which is what a 3080 can do, is minuscule. Certainly not worth the hassle and the trouble. Too gimmicky and just for the sake of having something to show against AMD SAM etc.
