Test                   Overall   Graphics   Physics    Combined
Firestrike Ult       12740    12708      26295     7263
Firestrike Ult       12723    12719      25535     7271

Test            Overall  Graphics  CPU
Time Spy Ex 9097    10584    5066
Time Spy Ex 9105    10591    5073

Benchmarks came out on the Asus Strix 3080 OC. In comparison to the 3090 FTW Ultra in case anyone was wondering (I was).

TEST                      Overall              Graphics
Firestrike Ultra:      11,054               11,268
TimeSpy Extre:      7,755                  9,174

So basically the 3090 FTW ultra does around 1,000 points better on all tests compared to the 3080 Stix OC. Is 1,000 points much of a difference?

That's a Star Citizen video....

Oops updated it  https://youtu.be/qVoxaKVpJzc

I mean, those are good numbers stock, but plenty of people are getting 9.2-9.5K in TSE gpu with an overclocked 3080.  OC'd 3090 seem to be about 10.5-11K TSE gpu.  That's just by looking at 3dmark results from the last two days and the range of scores from the 10th to 100th result.

So it's the 10-15% difference everyone has been saying.

So only +7% on the power-limit is possible?

Bummer. I hope there are better bios' that can be flashed. My 2080ti black from evga has a +24% powerlimit.

The slider % doesn't really mean much since the FTW3 ships with a higher base power limit.

Shhhhhhh don't tell him the 2080 Ti black only goes to 310w and there's not a whole lot you can do about it aside from a shunt mod.....he'll be sad.

Thanks for the information. This helps me make a more informed decision about possible 3080/3090 decision. Of coarse Step Up if anything "new" comes out like a "3090ti" ;)

But Strix OC and FTW ultra are already overclocked. Not much more head room than that unless you are super lucky.

What ruff percentage you think performance increase for Strix/FTW3 Ultra over stock approximately?

3080 STRIX OC is 13.2% faster than 3080 FE. Source: https://videocardz.com/newz/asus-rog-strix-geforce-rtx-3080-oc-gets-1935-mhz-boost-clock

I'm weighing the decision to buy 3080 STRIX OC vs 3090 FTW Ultra. Both are OC cards.

When you compare the 3080 Strix OC to 3090 FTW Ultra. The FTW is 1,000 points higher on average in 3dmark tests. Is that a significant increase was my original question?

3080 Strix OC is basically the same performance as stock 3090.

About 15 FPS at 4K faster for the 3090 (stock 3090 to a 3090 Strix OC).

I used techpowerup's 3090 Strix review - they also have a a stock 3090 review under their benchmarks (two 8 pin power plugs).

Damn, ok. This has solidified my decision to get an OC card then, possibly 3080.

3090 FTW Ultra has 440W Power limit vs 3090 Strix OC has 480w power limit. For the same price! Obviously 3090 Strix is the top choice but I just gave up on trying to get it. It will be sold out for a long time.

That is also quite the increase in power limit. I am assuming someone might be able to do some impressive overclocks on that!

The great thing about the FTW3 - I already heard about a completely unlocked VBIOS that Gamer's Nexus has access to. I've just got to track it down, and then it won't matter that the Strix has 40 more watts out of the box! I don't know what Asus has for warranty, but with EVGA's dual VBIOS - I don't have to worry about voiding my warranty.

True. I still have to watch results from Gamer's Nexus. I will definitely be interested to see the OC potential. I am sure the Kingpin will also be a treat when we see that!
