Hi all,

I was looking at if I can use Re-Bar on my EVGA 3080 and I see the following error in X1 "Please re-install Windows in UEFI Mode".
I've had a quick google but couldn't really find much. What does this mean and how do I enable it?

Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING
GPU: EVGA RTX 3080 XC3 Ultra 10GB

Cheers,
Dan

It means using a GPT partition instead of a MBR partition. There is a method to convert a MBR partition into a GPT partition, but it isn't fool-proof, and reinstalling Windows is a reliable and simple fool-proof recommendation.

I reinstalled windows from fresh a few months ago, guess I must have ticked the wrong box somewhere. What should I be looking out for this time?
Also, does the "Keep My Files" option work if doing a reinstall like this?

This is helpful if you need media set up to install in UEFI mode:

Edit: I don't think you'll be keeping your files in this type of reinstall, it has to change the partition from MBR to GPT. Save your Data files...all of them, before doing this..

I would save them anyway...just in case.

Edit 2: You take full responsibility for your DATA in instances like these.

Might also want to go in BIOS and disable legacy boot mode.

Like others have said, legacy mode generally has less features and is rather irrelevant to leave on. Turn it off!
