I am looking to buy some new ram for my motherboard and was wondering what you would suggest for medium to high priced and with 3 sticks each 2 gb. Any suggestions?

Also, I am looking for a medium priced graphics card that would go good with my system and that i could maybe run with sli in the future.

I use OCZ Gold 1600MHz RAM.  I haven't had any problems with it at all.  It is about $150 at newegg.

Pretty good RAM.   Use the OCZ Gold and the OCZ blade.

    Vaughn,

Did you have to do anything special to get all 12GB recognized?  I have the same RAM but the machine can only see 8GB.  Before anyone asks I am running Win 7 x64.  BIOS even reports only 8GB.  Windows see's all 12GB but says only 8GB is usable.

Man I wish I could get my memory to run like yours - did you have to RMA any?

yeah, i hear its a PITA to get corsair doms to run at 1600 on the SLI LE boards.

has anyone with this setup gotten the ram to work as specified right out of the box?

I have both, the OCZ Gold and the G.Skill Trident 2000MHz. OCZ gold was a snap it in, fire it up and forget about it. I even ran1 2 gig of it for a while but the heat being generated was causing the heatspreader to curl. I RMA'd them and got 2 new kits. One I installed in my wifes new PC and at the time I got the Trident for 159 bucks and pulled my hair out for a while. The customer support sucks, hell I'm a newb and knew more than that guy did. I finaly got it running fine in my 760 Classy but it did take some work. I'm loving it now though as it has seen 2000MHZ clocks.

If you don't have much patience I'd go for the OCZ Gold. If you do have patience then I'd get the bargain G.Skill 2000 if you have a Classified.

    Sincerely,

    Rob

I forgot to mention, you know that the 300 series card are around the corner. Some are Saying January, I'm calling dibbs on April. If you want the newest and latest in your new rig, I'd go with a single 260 or 275 and hang on for the 300 to come out. I've been surfing all over and seems the general consensus on midrange Fermi's like a 385 would run aroun 4 or so. Two of those in sli and I'm retiring :)
