So, after 11 months, nine of those without any "black screen fan at 100%" issues anymore, today it happened again while playing World of Warships. Only this time after restarting the system i get the "no signal detected" message on screen and no video output. Reseating the card and trying another PCI slot also didnt help :( No red led but the fan keeps spinning at low speed, usually after booting it stopped until the card became too hot. https://imgur.com/x7ytuaq Guess its RMA time, lets see how long i will have to wait for a replacement :(

Sadly no, i gifted my old trusty 1080Ti to a friend. Its going to be internal graphics and patience until the RMA goes through :)

They require the unit as sold for a RMA, fans included. I was looking to do the same but a moderator informed the seller what would happen in the event they needed to RMA.

No you can not, it must be returned to EVGA for RMA in the same configuration that it was received from EVGA. https://www.evga.com/warranty/graphics-cards/: Under "What is not covered by this Limited Warranty," "Products that are modified outside of factory specifications and/or not in factory condition."

darn! i guess i’m stuck purchasing another hybrid kit for the fans! i suppose i could sell it offhand for cheap just to relieve some of the funds. if anything, they will get my upgraded noctua fans attached!

I would call/email EVGA EU and explain what happened. I would then offer to ship the fans. They may or may not give you a pass, but it is worth a try.

The defective GPU is on the way to germany, however i just realized that i didnt add the two radiator fans. The reason for this was my misinterpretation about sending the GPU back without accesories.
Is this going to cause a problem for the RMA?
If yes, what would be a possible solution to this problem?
Can i return the fans separately?

Sounds good to me, good luck with the RMA. I'd say worst case scenario they send the card back and you put the fans on then resend it. Best case scenario you get another set of fans.

Thank you for contacting our support team.
Please make sure to ship the fans too, otherwise the RMA team might void the warranty and send you back the card.
However, I have forwarded this case to our RMA team, and they will make sure to open both parcels at the same time.
Please update us with the tracking information for both parcels as soon as you have them.

Your card died within the normal warranty period. Why are you happy you purchased a 10 year warranty? It didn't do anything extra for you. Not only that but there's a chance that they will deny your warranty claim.

Not only that but there's a chance that they will deny your warranty claim. The extended warranty will also apply to the RMA replacement, so for a GPU in that price class im happy to have purchased it :) From the EVGA website: Replacements under EVGA's RMA Service will always follow the original product's warranty. It will not be necessary to purchase the Extended Warranty again for RMA replacements. The RMA has been approved and is now in processing for the return shipment :)
