Hi i have been noticing low fps on games like Fortnite with my new rtx 3090. With the same settings i was getting well over 200-300 fps on my old 2080 ti. But now im noticing only abour 70 fps. i have tried everything. Went with geforce optimized settings also to see if it gives better fps. Im running my game on 1440p 165hz asus monitor. Does anyone have any idea of how to fix this? my specs are: Asus z390E 32 gb 3200Mhz Ram Intel i9 9900k windows on samsung nvme 1tb

Is RTX reflections and shadows on or off?

When I did GeForce optimized, it turned on RTX settings for my 3080 and it definitely takes a frame rate hit. Have you tried switching back to your old 2080 Ti keeping the current settings the same and checking the performance?

If I was a graphics card I'd run fortnite at the lowest FPS possible.

What version of the Nvidia driver are you using?  When I updated to the latest, 457.30, one of my games locked at 32 FPS and I could not get it to go higher..
 
I think it was also happening in a VR game but I did not have an FPS readout..

Having the exact same problem. Thought my card was a dud until I ran benchmarks on other games such as Doom Eternal where it runs like glass on ultra nightmare settings. Fortnite is basically unplayable.

Windows 10 Issues

: Stuttering and lagging occur upon launching a game.
: GPU power consumption may increase in idle mode on systems using certain higher refresh-rate G-SYNC monitors.
: After launching and then closing Star Wars: Squadrons, Freestyle/Ansel stops working on supported games.
To work around, reset the NVIDIA Control Panel global 3D settings.
Open the NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings page, then select the Global Settings tab, click Restore and then click Yes at the confirmation dialog.
: With the freestyle filters applied, a blue-screen crash occurs when pressing while running Vulkan applications.
: The game may display random green corruption if Depth of Field is enabled from in-game settings.
: The curb may display a black strip during a race on certain tracks.
: Video playback stutters while scrolling down the YouTube page.
When setting the refresh rate higher than 100Hz, the color format switches from RGB to ycbcr422.
: Some Pascal-based notebooks w/ high refresh rate displays may randomly drop to 60Hz during gameplay.

also they released a .50 hotfix for this one so maybe just update drivers (or downgrade lol). there may be other issues as well
