Hey guys!

So I bought an EVGA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti FTW3 ULTRA GAMING, 12G-P5 back in January and I am noticing some issues that I can't seem to troubleshoot out. I figured I would come here before requesting an RMA.

Problems
- The card will not kick on my monitors after a restart at times. If I restart the computer again and sometimes 2-3 times, it will eventually pop them on. Otherwise I can unplug power to one of the monitors and after plugging it back in, the card will recognize it and kick it on. The machine will sometimes run through the boot cycle more than once before actuating the monitors as well. The monitors are 2x ASUS Tuf Gaming VQ32VD.

- The card sometimes locks up when gaming and pixelates locking the machine up and forcing me to hard restart. This has only happened maybe 3 times but it's still cause for alarm.

INFO
- The card is socketed in the first slot with 3 independent 8 pin connectors. The card is air cooled and doesn't overheat. Under load it is around 61c. I have updated the drivers and I have removed previous iterations. I have reseated the card and made sure of a good connection. I have tried several different Display Port Cables to each monitor. They are using display port from back of the card no daisy chaining.
- There have been no BSOD.
- The card tests fine on Cinemark and Heaven. Never had an issue with heat or stability while on extended tests.
- Setup is listed below.

Thank you ahead of time for any help. Let me know what you think the culprit is and what I should do!

If you only have one monitor plugged on, does it do the same thing? Does switching which DP ports are in use change anything?

What about adaptive sync and HDR? Are those active?

Which game(s) are you having issues with?

Just a few spitballs to see if we can narrow it down further. 😁

Are your dp cables vesa certified? Is your motherboard bios, and video card bios (vbios) up to date? Does this issue occur over hdmi? I’d suggest running your ram at 4800 MHz for awhile as ram speeds over cpu imc rated speeds can cause all sorts of issues. Does the issue follow the card to another known good working system?

VESA certifies cables are always a good idea, , I run triples and sometimes on wake, I will get one that wont fire up but I figure this is probably a Monitor issue rather than a card issue because I pull the power and put it back in and the monitor will fire up.

    Okay Thanks for the responses!

The cables are the ones that came with the monitors. I am unsure how to tell if they are VESA certified - but they have these markings: DisplayPortTM Cable E118077-Z AWM 20276 80C 30V VW-1 AWM I/II A/B FT1 JI-HAW
-correction one cable is aftermarket for length but the issue was persistent before the cable swap.
HDR is off on the monitors I don't see anything about adaptive sync. AMD FreeSync Premium is ON ELMB SYNC is OFF.

I am not sure if the same issue happens with HDMI - I can test and come back.

    Motherboard Bios
    SMBIOSBIOSVersion 0503
Says a new bios is available as of 3/9/22 but The problem was persisting long before.

Video Bios - according to Precision up to date
    94.02.71.80.74

I had the ram underclocked originally when building the system and the issue has been going on since day one. I thought at first the monitor was bad, but noticed it did the same on the second monitor as well. I tried swapping the cables and the monitors and the problem was the same. I will say that these monitors only show as generic PnP in device manager and I have tried a ton of things to get them recognized by name with no luck. The display settings screen shows them by name though.

As far as the games that give me issue, I really only play 2 since I built this machine. New World and Oxygen Not Included. I could understand if it was just buggy New World but Oxygen runs flawlessly on all the other systems.

I have not tried to swap the card into a good known system because I don't have access currently. This is the first computer I have built for myself since 2012. It's been laptops in the meantime.

    Thank you.

I am looking into the update now, even after running X1 again it didn't offer me any updates. The monitors do not have deep sleep mode either. I will update and return with results.

Are both monitors problematic at the same time or is one usually consistent while the other is the problematic? Sorry without reading back I thought you had mentioned you had 2 monitors.
