Received a RTX 3070 C3 ULTRA GAMING finally. Wanting to OC the card a little bit. In the past it was fairly simple, set power limit to the max, up core and memory clock slightly. Is it still this simple?

What should realistically be my target for this card, seeing that it is overclocked out of the box? Is there any headroom to actually OC it further?

The out of the box specs are:
1770 MHz Boost Clock
7001 MHz Memory clock (14000 MHz effective)
https://www.evga.com/prod...aspx?pn=08G-P5-3755-KR

Can I reasonably expect to add 60-80 MHz to the core and 100-200 to the memory?

EVGA Precision X1 is showing I can set a max power limit of 113%.

Not interested in finding the absolute highest possible OC, just trying to squeeze a bit of performance. Did that with my last four cards. Was always some wiggle room to get 1-3 frame rates without needing to change the voltage.

Nvidia Boost technology .. you need to keep it cool & Manage how you use the Watts your allowed (fan speed - load vs Temps)

Silicon lottery ... no idea ... everyone's hardware will most likely be different & depends on the rest of your system

Is your MB OC stable ?  --> CPU, RAM, & front-side bus

You Need stable power - quality PSU & power from the wall   [personally I like to use a UPS of adequate capacity - to ensure Clean stable power]

Note Room temp, as it does impact hardware temps - thus OC - set case fans to Max or what you intend to run them at as you stated not after absolute Max OC

GPU-Z --> sensor tab is a great way to get some feedback on your systems reason for performance limits

    1) baseline your card +0 default sliders

    2) baseline with Max Temp & Power target sliders

    3) Run the (Nvidia tool) to test Your OC of the GPU ... final result = "best stable" OC per the Nvidia tool in X1

    4) Now work with the OC on your RAM as the tool does Not test RAM OC

    5) After you found your Max OC - now reduce your settings about 10% to increase stability

Enjoy the adventure & remember every Game can have a different stable OC

You can try to set 0.900 V @ 1950 MHz with curve (msi afterburner) and run some tests or play games for at least 1 hour to check the temperatures. If the temperature is above 80 C most likely you will need to create a custom curve for the fans because the boost technology will decrease the clock of the GPU. In perfect world you'll need the temperature under 70 C.

This appears to be stable so far:

    + 100 core
    + 800 memory

Benchmarked a few games like Rise of the Tomb Raider, Metro Exodus, Borderlands 3, Control, and Assassin's Creed Odyssey. Saw a FPS increase in all, ranging from 3-4 to 5-8 depending on the game and settings. Did about an hour of MW 2019 with ray tracing without any issues.

Is there more headroom for the memory clock or is this about as far as I can expect to take it?

I have the same card, I'm stable at +170 on the GPU clock and +1150 on the memory. Sliders all the way up. I'm noticing heat throttle on GPU once it's hits 60C and a lot more after 65C. It maxes out at about 68C during gaming.

I ordered a GPU cooler for $20. Extra 3x90mm fans that fit into a slot under the GPU to push air. I'm hoping to maintain it under 60C.

I put the power slider all the way over, then did +100 core and +750 mem. Saw a nice jump in my Time Spy scores. I figure I can push a little more, just haven't had time yet. I want to see if I can get near what Warwolverimewarrior posted.

I crashed at warzone @ 170. I'm currently running +1100 on memory and +160 on the clock. My temps on time spy are 66C. The GPU really starts throttling at 65C. Try +1000 on memory and +150 on GPU clock. Run GPU Z to see what the temps are. Turn the fans to aggressive.

MSI Afterburner reports my XC3 Ultra card running at 1950Mhz in MSFS 2020. What gives? I am running an ASUS ROG Strix B550-i Gaming with a Ryzen 5900X + 32 GB of Crucial Ballistix C16 RAM. I haven't made any physical attempt to overclock.
