Hey,
 
So I just bought a new evga 2070 xc ultra today and the latest drivers were already installed, couple mins later i got artifacts and space invaders over my screen but I did not experience a BSOD. I further noticed that my windows device manager had an exclamation point next to the PCI option. I then did a fresh install of the Nvidia drivers and that issue went away and I have not experienced artifacts or space invaders. Is my card fine or should I still replace it?

    You should RMA your Card if you are seeing Artifacts and Space Invaders on your Screen.

    Keep an eye out. If it happens again try the card in another known good working system. Rma it if the problem also occurs in another known good working system.

    For the time being, sounds like it was software related as you should always do a clean reinstall of GPU drivers when a GPU is introduced into the system, even though the previous drivers could be or are compatible.  If the issues arise once again, than I would steer into it being a hardware issue but as stated, I would see if the GPU could be tested in another system to make sure of it if possible.

    So after the install of the drivers, I booted up Metro Exodus and went to go eat. When I came back I noticed Windows had restarted and was back at the lock screen, could this be due to the BSOD and then computer restarting after? I have been stress testing for over 2 hours now, and I have experienced no artifacts and space invaders. Weird....

    If you have a lock screen, than yes your PC restarted because of instability. Make sure the whole PC, including the CPU is all on stock settings.
