Ok... For those of you that follow my builds... I always dream big, and end up too tired to do it all. No difference here...lol I originally was going to make this build look like TRON, but never found the right kind of lighting.. To many bulbs or LED's to far apart making it look silly. Anyway.... this post will be on the tricks, some new some old, I did on this build. I had one goal that I refused to not keep. I wanted to cool the two 470FTW HC's the VRM and the 920 in one loop, with acceptable temps with as little hose showing as possible. To say that I am happy with the end results is an understatement. Now I suck with photos, but here you go... OK... first we have one of the neatest, quietest and most efficient ways that I know to cool a Black Ice GTX360. And I am talking about real world use 24/7 pushing my systems to the max. Not a bunch of scientific lab stuff (Although I am just jealous I do not have the tools to do it that way ) I Gut a cheap as possible 120x25 fan of its internals making a shroud. For best results I found Pull to be the most efficient, but push to be the quietest. And since I knew I would be pushing the limits of the RAD for the loop I wanted... Well I went pull. Finish product goes... RAD/Shroud/Fan/rubber noise killer/case... Keep in mind this build is designed for bullet proof gaming. Not over the top Alpha Male Tim Taylor stuff that I normally do... My loop goes form the pump down to the bottom most GPU FIRST!!! and goes like this... Pump/GPU/GPU/Vreg/CPU/"Y"Splitter/RAD/RES So Res pretty high up, splitter pretty low... (Think gravity for draining and air bubbles) Temps after over an hour with Intel Burn... With the factory dummy clock... And OMG!!!! Looks at the voltage needed for this DO 920!!!!!!! P.S. Fans @ 55% power... Take that you doubters!!! Pics of the RAD setup... As you can see in the third pic... Even though I put in a 360 RAD and basically have two 120x25 fan spaces, I clear the MOBO area by about 1/3"...

Oh and for those of you needing a laugh and need proof I am human... Go back and look at that first picture with the fans... Yeah that's right... I installed one fan pushing air into the case instead of pulling from the RAD... OMG... ... I did have to tear the RAD assembly apart.... BEFORE.. Muhahahahaha..... I connected any hoses and such... Found it as I was installing the next post....

Thanks DMIINC Oh.. And for those of you on a budget or environmentally contentious... It only took my 19th build to figure out exactly how much Hose I needed for this build... lol... In the pic below I deliberately placed items in the pic to help give you an idea of how little hose I had left after building this system... And this is after making one cut 1/2" to short and needed another cut!!! (Longest of the two is the 1/2" to short piece)

Thanks fellas! Couple of notes... Remember.. this is a single loop system running not one but two 470's with the CPU on the EVGA Dummy OC. Did anyone notice even with an hour of intel burn it only needed 0.9v for the 3.3 oc????? WOW! This is a Cherry DO... Dang last one I have too Anyway... I put the new 140mm fan in the bottom by the PSU, and reversed the factory mounted 140mm on the rear. SO the RAD had all the air it wanted. Even two hours intel burn now and still no temp Higher than the 63c on the one core. To say I am pleased with the end results would be an understatement. This is without a doubt the best gaming system I have built. SUPER quiet. Low power usage and the temps are better than I expected and was good with. Original goal.... 67c peak temp, 50c 24/7 gaming temp on CPU and 55c on the GPU's... No more that 31" if total hose exposed with viewable panel removed... Actual... 63c Peak, 42c gaming on the CPU and 47c on the GPUs after 67 minutes of Crysis..... 26" of total hose exposure!!! (Measuring actual hose on the inside viewable case counting RAD and RES even)

47C after 67 minutes of Crysis! With 2 x 470s! With stock cooling you'd have to have the fans between 80-100% (loud) and still would be much hotter than 47C. These Fermi chips love water don't they?

AB, are you going to oc the cpu anymore then 3.3ghz?? you make watercooling looks so easy, even a caveman could do it. after seeing how clean you system looks it makes me want to get a new case and try the same thing :) great job

Temps are the same as mine running one loop using XPSC Dual Bay Res (res, pump, 360 rad, GPU, Res, CPU) Pushing configuration with tri-Antec Fans. Rig looks pretty neat, you should put a wookie action figure next to it.... . As far as ligthing goes, they are flexible ion lights out there. http://www.virtualvillage.com/car-led-neon-strip-lights They are overseas, but I am pretty sure there are companies in the U.S.

The abuse of power that seems to create the most unhappiness is when a person uses personal power to get ahead without regards to the welfare of others, people are obsessed with it. Looks like you had some fun building and tweaking the fit and finish of your pieces. Really like the minimal hose showing. Great job ,again . I'm digging the fan controller also . What SLI connectors are those(brand).

One solid light. notfordman Looks like you had some fun building and tweaking the fit and finish of your pieces. Really like the minimal hose showing. Great job ,again . I'm digging the fan controller also . What SLI connectors are those(brand). Thanks man! I had a blast not just building it, but all the research and analyzing I go through to put together the perfect mix... Rather sore today from it... Some of those positions it takes to get it all together are not normal... lol... Originally I planned on doing it this weekend.. Yeah... Like I am strong enough to hold off for that! I could have hidden one last hose very easily had I of not used Fan Shrouds on the RAD. I would have gone from the CPU Block to the one last grommet above the MOBO and it would have been extremely tough to do much less than that. Personally I think this build is award worthy. Simple, clean, rock solid, cost effective and noob friendly. Not to mention, 95% of all Wookies approve of it for daily pwnage .

Nice build - I like how you hid the tubing. My biggest complaing w/ the XSPC bay reservoir (I had it originally) was I had so much damn tubing exposed. I felt like it was just drooping all over the build -.- I have pretty much the same setup as you except I used a full board block and EK GPU blocks. The max I have seen my GPU's after hours of gaming/folding is 44-45C (OC'd to a simple 700/1400) so we're on par I spose. Although, I do have a 980x (I think they run a bit cooler). The most I have seen my CPU @ is 58C (This is @ 4.2ghz w/ 1.365V though). Oh, I just realized you have only 1x 360mm Radiator - Yah, you're doing well haha... I would imagine when you start pushing hard OC's (if you do) those temps will come up a bit. Have you considered sleeving the cables or simple extensions? I don't/didn't have the patience to sleeve all of my stuff so I just used extensions. It worked out really well for me. Give yourself a BR - You deserve it.

Oh, have you considered backplates for the GPU's? I used the EK backplates but I think they may require using EK Waterblocks.

But when I was doing my "Leak" test I noticed how nice and clean the original part/wires looked. So I decided, until a rainy day, that I would just put the sleeving in my stash and do it later... And yep.. Any sizable OC does create excess heat. But I built this for gaming and wanted to prove beyond any doubt that we can run two 470's @ FTW clocks, Cool a Vreg, and a 920 CPU all on a single loop with only Pull fans at no more than 60% of max fan RPM. And be solid as a rock! Done right, we can do pretty much anything...
