New to the forums, I've had my FTW3 for just over a year and I have a question to anyone who has similar card (Subject Line) what does your Precision X1 say for your memory base speed? Mine used to be 7000mhz(ddr4) or (1750mhz base) default, now its showing at 6800 mhz (1700mhz base). Before, I was able to get 1000 mhz on the memory up 8000 mhz. And I still can get to 8000mhz via a now 1200mhz overclock. Just trying to understand what changed and if I have anything to worry about. I have attached several pictures of the X1 window and GPU-Z to see that it is under clocked, I just don't know how or why. And for now, like I said I can stably run games at 1200 mhz, to get back to where I was. I'm just looking to see if anyone else notice this change. Or if there is something specific I need to look at. Thanks

Mine base has always show 7000. I run my memory at 7700. Was not able to push it any further than that. But yeah my base has always been the same. Have had it since it was first released.

i recently noticed my mem at 6800 MHz instead of the usual 7000 MHz. i thought it was just afterburner. I moved to OC bios on the gpu and it read 7000 MHz again. So i then went back to the normal bios and its back to 7000 MHz mem, for a while. I had to do the bios change 2 times in the last few weeks, because afterburner and Precision X1 was reading 6800 MHz instead of 7000 MHz again... i didnt think to look at Techpowerup GPU-Z. This isnt a fix really, just more of an observation. I was going to post about it today also. I was pushing the Memory to 8500/8400 MHz for some gaming, I thought maybe a safety throttled it down, but wouldn't allow it to return, until I switched bios. Anyone else notice the mem reading lower than normal? (Edit: Problem from Nvidia Voice beta.)

Did a run of unigine superposition using the 8k optimized preset and didn't notice any clock drop below 7000. I'm running driver 445.75 though, so maybe the latest driver has a problem.

No problem. Looks like 445.75 was pulled for some reason as it isn't even listed anymore. lol.

I had the same issue. It drops 200mhz on the memory clock whenever RTX Voice is active. You running it? Given that I can see your GPU core was at 1350mhz, rather than idle, I'm sure you are. I have reported to Nvidia. Not sure if it's a bug or neccesary.

Yep, I can confirm that is the issue. I exited out of RTX voice and it went back up. Thanks very much for the response. Please update when/if you hear back from nvidia on bug report. I doubt its supposed to mess with boost clocks, but who knows.

Couple of sources on here have said it's fairly typical for memory clocks to drop during compute tasks, so it looks like it's by design.

At this point I"m just happy to know why... For the life of me I couldn't figure it out. So like always, its something simple that wasn't accounted for.

Exactly how I felt. Honestly couldn't care less about 200mhz on the memory clock. It isn't going to make the slightest bit of difference. But I was just totally baffled at why it had changed. And why it had changed back. Then down again. Couldn't see the pattern. I feel kinda dumb actually. It's not just running RTX Voice that causes it, it's having it actively supress something. Turn the tick box on and off and watch it go. Can't believe I didn't see the pattern earlier. Namely that it only happened when I was playing with my buddy who has a housemate watching TV in the background. That's the only time I use it. Does a great job at filtering that out in fairness, without him having to do anything. It's an excellent bit of software.

Thank you for your keen observation. I was going a bit mad as I am OCD about these things. You are a lifesaver. I was going up to +1200 which made me a bit uncomfortable, but I have the Samsung memory and it always was comfortable at 8000, so I adjusted, but definitely thought something was afoot. Nice when there is an explanation even if not a solution for the root cause. I too was running RTX voice so this is pretty much confirmed. Regards, DevDoc
