Was lucky enough to grab a 3080 TI from new egg. My current 3080 only requires two 8 pin connectors ( currently has one rail that is jumped to two 8 pins). The TI requires 3!. ? I have a spare PCI-E power slot on my power supply that i was going to buy an 8 pin connector cable. So in theory i would have one leg with two 8 pins off it and then another leg with a single 8 pin to fill the 3 spots. Will this work?

It will work but not advised as you should have 3 separate 8 pin connections with the power draw. I bought a 3 pin bridge connecter from  https://usstore.cablemod.com/

So looks like I’ll have to replace my power supply ? What issues could I run into running it this way will it knock the performance of the card? I also could not find the 3 pin bridge connector on that website . Thanks !

Ideally it would be three separate cables and that is the best but using the standard two cables on a cable from the PSU manufacturer will also work fine. Most of the PSU that will handle the 3080Ti made in the last like 5 years should have multiple GPU cables though.

It should work OK but the reserve power will be a little iffy.
One component I NEVER skimp on is the PSU. They are not the most expensive component and I really prefer having at least 25% reserve even if everything is running at max.

Yes, the 3080 Ti is more powerful and needs a 3rd pin for overclocking.

What is the model number of your power supply? You cannot just buy any cable and connect it because it may not be compatible. You should only use a cable that came with the power supply or a replacement cable that's designed for it.

I think a 750-watt power supply is recommended for a 3090, so maybe it's the same for the 3080 Ti.

When the computer is turned off, 0 watts.  Staring at a blank desktop, 100 watts total, maybe?  What do you mean by "minimum"?

I think the question was pretty obvious. What is the minimum power supply needed for 3080ti. I don't think it was a complicated question.

So just to verify it is not a good idea to power it as this picture shows for the "3 pcie slots?" i was just going to replace that last cable with a single 8 pin so i didnt have an extra connector flopping around in the case.

It seems like it will work but you need to do a few alterations
