Hi all,

I replaced the radiator fan of my 1080 Ti SC2 HYBRID by a Noctua NF-F12 iPPC fan and plugged that into a motherboard header, controlled by a fan curve in SpeedFan.

I am not into overclocking, and don't have a need for the information provided by Precision XOC (apart from the fact that I find the UI too busy and complicated). So I would prefer to not have Precision XOC installed at all.

My questions are:
- Do I NEED Precision XOC to control the power fan on the card?  (SpeedFan does not seem to have access to it)
- What is the stock fan curve/profile for the power fan on the card, if I choose not to install Precision XOC?

Thanks!

The Blower Fan on the GPU Yes the Radiator Fan No.
You can also use NVIDIA Inspector to set the Blower Fan on the GPU.
As well as MSI AB will set the Blower Fan on the GPU.

First question: You only need precision xoc if you want to set a custom fan curve to the power fan.

Second question: Whatever the vbios default is.

Thank you for your reply. Is there a way to find out what that vbios default is?

I hated when I installed my hybrid sc2 it seemed the blower fan wouldn't spin at all and gpu got real hot so I installed precision x and set fans to auto and the blower fan spins and the card stays cool. Unfortunately today I upgraded to the latest precision x and reboot my system now my games keep crashing within seconds or minutes at best. Gow4 specifically. So I just turned precision x off and o been playing with no problems but i fear my gpu is probably getting real hot.

Perhaps try using MSI Afterburner instead of EVGA Precision X?
