I currently have a EVGA Supernova 750 G+ 750 Watt 80 + gold power supply with my 2070 super. With my new 3080 ftw3 coming in next week will I potentially run into issues gaming with my current power supply?
I don’t plan on overlooking the card if this information helps.

According to this, yes, you might not be able to use the card with your PSU. The FTW3 specially if really power hungry. There is a reason it asks for 3x 8 PIN and not just 2 like others. Sure it's mostly for overclocking but the card spikes in power usage even on stock and some PSUs might not be able to handle it.

Get a brand new PSU 850W or bigger and DO NOT experiment with daisy chains regardless what they tell you. Yes you could and sure 750W could be enough. Hard facts: With so many 3080 RMAs at least remove a problematic PSU from the equation.

I would highly recommend upgrading PSUs to be on the safe side, a LOT of people using all brands of 750W units have mostly had issues that have went away when their PSU was upgraded to a higher unit, because of the spikes that the 3080 & 3090 produce under load causing random shut downs & other problems. If you want to go for ideal efficiency under typical loads, a Platinum or Titanium rated 1000W-1200W would be a good thing to look for, depending on your exhaust setup. You could go 850W, but if you're planning to upgrade and/or overclock stuff a lot, I'd always recommend going a bit bigger than you think you need, rather than being stuck with something too small later (which is why I have a 1200W P2 PSU lol)

I am using a Corsair RM750 for Ryzen 7 3800X and 3080 FTW3 Ultra. No problem at all.

It depends on your CPU as well, Ryzen chips will likely consume about 110-200W at peak (6/8 cores~110W, 12 cores~140W, 16 cores~200W) while Intel chips will easily go 200-250W+ depending on OC. For example, my 3900X with PBO+Fmax Enhancer will only pull about 60-90W during gaming and 3070FTW3 pulls about 250-300W. I'd say 750W is fine for Ryzen (I plan to continue using a Corsair SF750 for my 3900X and 3080 FTW3 that's in step up queue), probably bump up to 850-1000W for Intel CPUs. As recommended by others, try to use 3 separate pcie psu cables for best load balancing to your PSU.

This is useful information. I plan to upgrade to a 3080 FTW3 Ultra. I am currently using a Corsair RM750x V2 PSU (only two PCIe cables, but with double connectors on each cable). Will this work at all, or do I have to buy a new PSU with three separate cables, or more?

I would say it would be better to go with a 850w. Better safe than sorry. I hooked my system up to the kill a watt during a testing and bench session last Saturday. The most I pulled was 652w from the wall during a Time Spy run. That was with the card drawing 450w on the xoc bios, hybrid kit. CPU + mem OC as well.

If you want to avoid possible issues it is definitely recommended to have fully separate cables for each plug in on the 3080 FTW3 Ultra or 3090.

Running my 3090 FTW3 Ultra on EVGA 750 G3. I chose that PSU based off EVGAs own Power Meter, as well as another utility, after plugging in all of my system specs. EVGA recommended 10 different PSUs, nine being 750 and one being and 850. Probably the most demanding game I play would be Alyx Half Life with Steam Index VR. I can only go about an hour straight before I am ready to blow chunks but it runs great. Based off the total watts I could stick with what I have but its high and have opted to go ahead and grab a 1000 for overhead and future upgrades.

Just an FYI... Check out Best Buy. They have the EVGA 1000 Watt (Model:120-GP-1000-X1) for $209. IMO if you have anything less than an 850 and are even considering upgrading, this is a good upgrade. Probably newer and better options out there but for a gamer on a budget upgrade its a good choice.

You should be okay having 1 separate cable and 1 daisy chained, but don't expect to OC too much if at all. Another option is to purchase a 3rd PCIe psu cable from Corsair or aftermarket for like $5-10, just make sure it's a "Type 3" plug for your RM750x. https://www.corsair.com/u...CIe-Cable/p/CP-8920111 That's my plan for my Corsair SF750 (Type4 cables) which also comes with only 2 PCIe cables with double connectors per cable.

Might be OK, might be a bit soft if you want to run the 450w bios. I run a 1300w psu with the 450w bios, total overkill. Had a 2080 Ti with a 9900K on a 650w G1+ and always doubted it. Going to be tough to find anything 1000w and bigger right now, they are in very short supply with the crypto craze. Top performing 850w like the EVGA 850w P2 is a safe bet and actually available: https://www.evga.com/prod...aspx?pn=220-P2-0850-X1

While it's certainly not efficient for a PSU my 3090 KPE worked fine on a 750w until I was able to move it to a different system. Although OC not recommended, for giggles, it would lose stability during OC around 113% power usage.
