My best so far.
Im still using the 520w bios and having a hard time getting over 140core. I can run up to around 1600 mem.
I still have so much to learn haha

you can get it off amazon still, they say its in stock despite Perf PCS saying out, so they must have a certain amount of them set aside for amazon sales(seller is Perf PCS on amazon btw)

Switch to an Intel platform if you're that concerned about Port Royal scores.

I agree.  If you are mainly concerned about top benchmark scores, you need both a 10900K or 11900K along with a higher core count CPU to cover a wider variety of benchmarks.  Some benchmarks favor clock speed with fewer cores.  Other benchmarks favor more cores.  I've seen some benchmarks favor a 2990WX, W3175X, 7980XE/10980XE, 10900K, 5950X, etc...

For example, the highest scores I've been able to get with a 5950X and RTX 3090 is 15,529.  That puts me in the top 80 for that hardware combination according to 3DMark's web site.  However, people with a 10900K that had similar GPU clock speeds on their 3090 scored a few hundred points higher because the benchmark favors higher clock speed Intel CPUs.

Also, don't forget to compare your system with other systems that have a similar GPU and CPU to se how you are doing compared to people with similar hardware.

I am third compared to others with my cpu
1st had average temp 29c and ran at 2250 set, average 2227 and mem 1319, CPU clock 4951
score 15736
Gigabyte x570 Aorus Master 2x 16gb Gskill at 3600

Second had n/a temp and rat at 2310 set and average 2259 and mem at 1388, CPU clock 4801
score 15641
MSI MEG x570 ACE 2x 8gb Gskill at 3800

I had average temp 55C(I had high voltage so dont judge me XD) and ran at 2220 set, average 2217 and mem 1407, CPU clock 4902
score 15599

Re: Post yer HydroCopper/Blocked card setups & performance/temp numbers! (3080, 3090, King 2021/06/19 17:15:40 (permalink)
You have to keep in mind whether or not people above you are using sub-zero cooling (which if it says Temperature N/A, they were) and keep yourself in comparison with similar hardware.

I think your score is fine if maybe a bit low, but I think that's because your CPU isn't boosting as high as it should.

Until Intel stops with their pricing it higher because it's newer even though it's worse in games trajectory, I won't be trying their platforms again, I'd rather deal with fighting with RAM/FCLK on AMD than deal with paying higher prices for lower game performance every time Intel releases newer stuff.  AMD has advanced significantly generation on generation for 4 releases now, Intel in comparison has been all over the place while ever increasing their prices despite lack of increase in real world/gaming performance.  If we as a gaming industry ever want to see Intel advance & actually price things competitively, we need to stop supporting their staleness until they are slapped out of it.

I spent the last week or so replaying Mass Effect 1-3 via Legendary Edition (I got it free with EA Play Pro).  Disappointed in EA/the remnants of BioWare on so many levels for now doing a better job/actually taking time to do a proper remaster.  The game in it's default state is almost unplayable on Ultrawide/SuperUltrawide because of HUD & caption issues - captions show in the middle of the damn screen & are cut off on both sides during cut scenes, the HUD is gigantic to the point of absurdity... the sad part?  A fix for this has existed for over a decade via Flawless Widescreen - the fact the EA & the developers of the remaster didn't take the 15 seconds required to fix their damn code for this really annoys me.  Add to that the fact that the "visual upgrades" are paltry at best, and I definitely wouldn't recommend paying money specifically for the Legendary Edition, at least not until it's on sale, supporting this kind of shoddy half-arse "remaster" isn't something the gaming community/industry should do either.

Having said that, I did enjoy playing them again, Wrex's everything never gets old, nor does renegade Female Shepard hitting people for sometimes no reason at all.

I installed the latest drivers (471.11), updated PX1 and installed the latest GPU firmware. tested it out a little in Furmark, but it wouldnt go over 270W and clocks were at like 1100MHz (temps were fine, ~40C) GPUz reported perfcap as PWR and wouldnt pull more for some reason. I dunno. maybe furmark is wack anymore. I ran the Timespy demo, and it pulled up to 300W at times, still reporting perfcap as PWR. can anyone recommend a FREE benchmark to really let this thing stretch it's legs? something that will pull max power draw, it's supposed to be 350W.

honestly I don't game much. I like having a nice system and I use it primarily for BOINC under Linux. with the 460.84 driver in Linux, nvidia-smi reports the correct power draw at 350W. Running Einstein@home (OpenCL) it only pulls about 270W again, but I think this is just a case of the application not being able to saturate the card. I see the same behavior on my 2080's which only pull about 160W with this app even though the cards are limited to about 200W. I also custom compiled a version of an old SETI@home application for CUDA 11.1 to try to stress it more, and I was able to get power draw up to 300W in some cases, but again, not sure if the app just can't use more. I think I won't be able to really test it out until GPUGRID updates their application for CUDA 11.1 to add support for Ampere, their current CUDA 10.0 app wont work.

all in all, very happy that I was lucky enough to get in on the 3080ti XC3 HC queue. don't think the FTW3 would fit in my case like this

@GSRCRXSI yes Furmark is kind of useless, most cards have hard limit features that prevent Furmark from roasting the card (because Furmark used to literally kill GPUs, I'm sure you're aware of it).  If you want to get a "real world"ish power draw, try 3DMark TimeSpy Extreme - the two graphics tests on that are pretty equivalent to most modern games in terms of triple A title power draw.

I started replaying Mass Effect Andromeda - I'm amazed just how stressful a game that 'old' is on my hardware.  CPU running warmer than it has in most games, GPU when on a planet or a larger indoor setting gets well in to the 400+W power draw range, and because the CPU is running the 50s/60s, the GPU is running warmer than usual, but not by a lot (few C at most).  Compensated by bumping the fans 10% for their minimum speed while gaming & seems to be good.  The game itself with HDR10 (even though my monitor only 'sort of' supports HDR due to lack of enough dimming zones) looks pretty darn great - in comparison to the MELE games which for me, the HDR looks washed out & grayed so I turned it off in those.

Does the 3dMark Spy Stress test do a good job? I have a 3080xc hybrid and 11700k and after about 14 or 15 runs neither got over 50c I think my cpu hit 53 once, no OC just stock with CPU/GPU both running dual radiator (forget mm). I got bored before the 20/20 full run :).

I ran the TimeSpy Demo. not sure if that's "Extreme". the demo doesn't really have any options. but I saw up to 300W during that test. I'm not going to pay money for a benchmark to prove the card works.

I also ran Unigine Heaven at 4k with all the settings jacked, also didnt go past 300W. so far nothing has been able to push this card past 300W. I just want to know if it's a problem with the power limit or if it's really that hard to load it up.
