Darron,  I've been studying the CCNA,  although i've been pretty sidetracked lately so I'm not nearly as far as i should be (just started on the ICND2 book and its been over a year LOL)

As for the fiber links of course :D  much cheaper to buy fiber GBIC's and fiber cable than it is to get copper GBIC's for the switches, i mean they are only like 1 or 2 meter long cables but hey, its fiber thats all that matters LOL.  Since that picture was taken i have made a few modifications to the rack as well, here is a more recent pic in its current iteration

Since that pic i've bought a Cisco ASA5505, WAP1142n, 2970(replaced the POS dell), and a siliconDust HDhome run digital TV tuner.  And i've moved my file server up from the basement and de-racked somethings to sell as they didn't support features i need.

You have to be one of the only people I know who has a server rack in his bedroom you should put that in your resume seriously.

"although i've been pretty sidetracked lately so I'm not nearly as far as i should be" I know how you feel I had trouble picking up the book the second time. I swear its like holding your breath before dive into a pool of boring descriptions of stuff you know you need to learn but find it hard to read a chapter without falling asleep.

I have just finished this book Routing Protocols and Concepts anyway so if you need any help just shoot off a PM to me anytime trust me I have some information you simply have to know about. You might be ahead of me im not sure if you need to have completed all 4 Exploration topics to get where you are at.

Well for me the part that makes it hardest is everything the CCNA covers i've learned and applied rather well to my network, i mean at this point i run call manger on my router, have DMZ, firewall,  have 3 different VPN connections and use VLANs for segregate stuff as is so i'm like snoring trying to read it,  all i need is the technical crap and i think i'm set LOL.

BTW we should probably stay a bit more on topic, we can continue via PM ;)

I can't get over Vistahead's setup with those tiny wal mart speakers!

They are not Walmart speakers and the subwoofer is located under the desk.  They provide me with the sound that I want/need...which is all that matters to me.  The 2.1 sound that they provide is more than loud enough for me, with low distortion.  Don't hate......

That is a nice looking setup VistaHead. I'm with you on the speaker deal. Even though I have 5.1 speakers, they are an older Creative set and they do just fine for me. Can't see me spending $300+ on a new set.

Some nice setups... Brad, i'm so jealous of that setup, but i'll never own anything like it. I'll just have to be happy with my 40" LED. lol

VistaHead, that's a very clean setup, my room would never look that nice. I really like the way you have that set up.
